Well I think that in any case P&P isn't that much of a drama compared to Brokeback Mountain. I just think that such good movies had to be nominated and even thought they don't fit in that category, they sure deserve an award and that's why we got all this random.
Shame Keira is not winning cause Reese is getting it no matter what.

The whole category is confusing......
Walk the Line is a DRAMA with singing IN IT , not a musical....its like they just feel like throwing in the movies that they couldnt fit into the first category, and make up a second.....doesnt make a bit of sense. Kill Bill was in that same category i believe.

No, Kill Bill was nominated in Drama categories.

As for PaP and WtL. I think the book (as do previous versions of it) are considered romance/comedy in general. So, that's probably why they put this PaP in that category. As for WtL, well it is Comedy/Musical and this movie does have a lot of singing in it, so they figure it's Musical.

It's also that Comedy/Musical category is usually EXTREMELY weak and there are usually like two decent movies to nominate if they were only considering TRUE comedies, so they want to actually nominate good films, even if it might be the wrong category. I personally don't have a problem with that.

I agree it's too bad that Keira wont get it, but also good...after seeing walk the line and pride and prejudice i think reese definitely deserves it..and shes getting on in her career as well unlike keira who has lots more time..

I'm a Johnny nutter too. I went to the first pirates even though I thought it would be painfully horrible because he and Orlando were in it and came out utterly in love with Capt. Jack and Keira. I liked Keira from Bend It, but I don't think the obession began until I saw her in Pirates.

Been "in love" with Johnny for a while, but that kinda rekindled it. *sighs*

Gotta agree with you. I would love for Keira to win, but Reese really was amazing in Walk the Line. I'm just looking forward to seeing what Keira's going to wear to the award show. Her red carpet outfits have been so unbelievable lately.
