they tanned her up way to much for this new POTC. i remember from the vogue cover she did last year she was complaining that she was too tanned for POTC 2. she said she felt like an oompa loompa or something like that. she is way more tanned for this one, she must be hating it.

It actually looks more like they keep lightening her hair, so it makes the effect that her skin tone is more tan than normal.

I think she's supposed to look sort of weathered and dirty and that's the reason why she's overtanned looking. People who spend a lot of time at sea tend to get that sort of look about them. Maybe it'll look better on screen, but in the stills it does look a little odd.

I second this! I think they made a joke about it during the Oscars that year she was nominated (was that last year?). They showed this video of how she could overcome anything with her fantastic cheekbones.
