i wish i had her winter style. living in minneapolis all you ever end up in is sweatshirts and jeans and warm boots. i think next year i'm going to lock up my sweatshirts and only bring them out for sitting at home and vegging out. NO MORE I SAY!!

i wish i could see new pictures of her daily but maybe if i didn't have to wait so long for new pictures i wouldn't have liked her as much as i do

I think it's just because when she does do movies, with the exception of Silk, they all end up being rather big and popular so she's plastered on everything for the duration and so people see more of her than they actually are... if that makes any sense. Plus for a while people wouldn't shut up about her weight and so there was a lot of tabloids on that etc...

All-in-all I think she does pretty good with keeping a low profile unless it's to promote a movie, which she has to do if she wants to keep making money.

There was a great article once about why people hate Keira. I wish I could find it. The main thrust of it was jealousy actually, and it makes a little sense. Sometimes I can't believe the passion people feel against her! And I agree with Captain-Lydia as well. And one day, I will find that article!

It's always going to be jealousy that fuels like or dislike for a celebrity, I think. It doesn't matter whether you hate them or not, there's always a certain jealously that we're not living that life, and I think it applies to everyone, not just Keira. It's not as though she's some special case, I mean, people hate and love Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, etc with the same ferocity as they do Keira. But, whether you do or don't, it spurs the production of tabloids, films, CD's, everything, so there's no real escaping it.

although it is off topic, its not necessarily jealousy. I dislike a few celebrities and I can honestly say that jealousy has nothing to do with it. Its more that I dont like what they stand for, or I think their acting is not worth spending $10 on

I think her acting is very overrated.

It's got nothing to do with exposure. Many people think that she is a rubbish actress and yet she gets the Oscar nomination at the detriment of many superior actresses . Natalie Portman is another low-key actress who gets a lot of hate for getting a GG when many people think she hasn't delivered a good performance since Leon. Then there is the fact that she is tooted as such a world-class beauty when so many people find her very unattractive.

No, not really. It's more the feeling is that a certain celebrity isn't deserving of the attention and the acclaim. I never hear any trashing of Cate Blanchett, who lives a very privileged life and is basically worshiped by Hollywood. that's because the consensus is that she lives up to the hype.
