To me, Kimora was, is and will ALWAYS been the queen of tackiness. OMG, how can she dare compare CAROLINA HERRERA to Baby Phat..... It's like comparing Nicole Kidman to Britney Spears.

I'm sorry, but who made you the judge of talent?
I think she's very talented, and she has lots of nice ideas and designs.
For example, I coundn't find velour track suit that would fit me great until I found one by Baby Phat, and in a rare colour.

Well, I do like to think myself somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to fashion. Also, let's just say it's pretty easy for me to judge on this, SHE is not the one coming up with any ideas and SHE is not the one designing anything because to design something you need to know how to, which she doesn't..........also, it doesn't take talent to make a velour track suit, and the idea was hardly hers.

But hey, who am I to judge???

As for the handbags, also not her idea, the ones I've seen look eerily like John Galliano's saddle bag from 2000.

Kimora has said over and over that she does not design BP. The head designer of the clothing line is a woman named Kat who used to work for Donna Karan.

I also remember her saying that the company has about 100 people designing at any given time.

She walked into one of the meetings and said she had some ideas. So he turned it over to her- and she made it into a $30 million dollar company.

How many near-billionaire husbands have wives who can help them make money as opposed to just spending it? Not many I'm sure.

Smart? Bernard Arnault is smart, Dom and Tom were smart.....she was lucky. They knew what they were doing with their respective companies and had a plan for how to make them thrive, she got a company handed to her and started thinking she was a designer.........

But that's beside the point, she's not a designer, she's not a stylist, she's not a creative director (at least not a good one) she's a has-been model turned trophy wife who has a clothing line to play with and make models into her own personal Barbie dolls.

That's not the point though, any label has a team of designers. But she doesn't have any original ideas or talent or taste......so what the hell is she doing in fashion?

First off, save the smart *** comments ok? Second, yes, what Balenciaga and Mizrahi (for his made to order line) is fashion, there's imagination, creativity and originality behind what they do. Kimora doesn't create trends, she hops on the bandwagon a year too late and calls it her own.

Personally, I think there is a fine, but present line between what is fashion and what is clothing. Right now I wear clothing, but I love fashion......what Kimora sells in stores- track suits, jeans and t-shirts- are clothes, not fashion.....fashion implies that there is a certain degree of artistry and originality involved.

And don't for one second think that I would wait for Kimora to ask permission for me to tell her that I think she's a classless, sleazy, talentless wench who wouldn't know fashion if it f**ked her in the ***......

rder: Things are getting pretty heated. Spike413 is entitled to his own opinions and there's no need to BASH HIM for doing so...

I TOTALLY agree with Spike413, Kimora is the most awful "designer" (*cough*) I've ever seen. She and the world of fashion are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT things.

First let's deal with the woman herself - she's a nasty piece of work who treats people like sh*t from the sounds of it. Being deliberately pictured with servants shows well her aspirations to 'aristocracy' and also her support for an exploitative system. Her house is in apalling bad taste and no European aristocrat (which is clearly what she aspires to) would touch it with a 6 foot bargepole. Her chosen husband, Russell, is complete scum - he's an exploitative mysoginistic moron who would do the world a service by taking an axe to his own neck.

The clothes are not fashion. Kimora does not design the clothes herself. The clothes are made by a team of designers who rip-off whatever is trendy at the moment. The intellectual content of the designs is about zero. Whatever their dubious aesthetic merits the clothes aren't fashion.
