Lanvin F/W 11.12 Paris

Always consistent, but never boring. I love Lanvin. I have yet to be disappointed. Alber is a brilliant man! Capes gimme gimme gimmeeee!

This is stunning.....sleek and polished and as always spectacular accessories.
Alber stays true to his vision for this brand in turning out unflashy wearable clothes. The highlight of Paris so far and although flower prints can become quite mundane....when done well they work a treat. Love this..........

He never disappoints   Everything looks so desirable, its glorious.
Of course this is not his best collection, but I really love the paradoxe of it. On the one hand : there's this take over the masculine wardrobe which leads to an explosion of Feminity. And on the other hand, the almost depressing austerity of the beginning which leads to an explosion of frivolity and colors. " After a hurricane comes the rainbow..."
And last but not least the accessories : OMG

It's nice, as always. Alber knows how to make a beautiful collection, but the magic of Lanvin has been lost on me for a while now. -_-

I'm super excited and in love with the cutting and drapery of the clothes, one of the master in the fashion nowadays. as beautiful as always, even if he's repeating some of the silhoutte, You will love the collection. I'm turely hoping he will stay in Lanvin.

i find this boring seriously , much preferred the other Parisian collections this time

Couldn't agree more. I haven't felt the spark in this collection nor last seasons which is quite disappointing.

so great to see him making a departure...
this is actually quite reminiscent of his work at YSL...

and it's great that he has included more daywear than usual...
his evening party looks are always fun and flirty...
but every woman needs some real clothes ...
and these are great...

the accessories really rock my world...
...

I am going to go against the grain again here. He is showing his limitations in outerwear and construction in this collection - he might be an expert with certain types of glamorous dresses, silks, colours, textures, poufs, etc. but the coats and jackets are awkward, as are the dresses that are constructed of stiffer materials. It's a bit of a cop-out to attach an elaborate brooch to decorate an otherwise unappealing dress.

Oh my god! REally loved this collection!!! Alber does no wrong! VERYY elegant and classic clothing, and a truly beautiful collection. Bravo!

The cuts and the accessories are great. Of course the hats too, which do add a kind of witchy feel with that tree in the background. But my favorite pieces were the 4 black & white rose pieces, the way they flit and fade the motif, in succession - so beautiful:

wow, i just LOVE how laughably biased the tFS crowd is. how people always HEAP undiluted praises on Lanvin, Givenchy and Prada (among others) but never fail to piss on Dior, Gucci, Balmain etc.. always finding faults on the latter's styling, accessories, inspiration, use of fur, simplicity.... my goodnessssssss..

i don't see anything remotely beautiful in this at ALL. some dresses were OK, yeah, but putting the price tags in perspective, i'd rather wait for department store rip offs of this chic but cheap looking dresses and splurge on that must-have bag that is very rarely imitated. Alber's past collections, including last season's, were all fantastic. i loved F/W 09 and maybe it's just me but it seems like he can't get over this type of ruched-style dresses.. all this while THE REST OF TFS throw rotten tomatoes (virtually, anyway) at Balmain for sticking to the style that has made the brand so famous.

overrated. :ermm:

Seems as if he gave his best designs to H&M. This was not a very good collection imo.

I LOVE Lanvin as always, but it's hard to say if I love this collection. It's sure Alber revolutionized the color and style, but somehow I found my love for him became a "boring surprise". I've been waiting for the show from February, yet when it came out it just elicits a "Wow", nothing more, nothing less. Is Alber too good to be fresh?
