I just saw her towards the end of her presentation... and she looked so GORGEOUS. Her dress may have been boring but she looked fantastic presenting

I saw her stilettos during the E! Emmy's pre-show. Her shoes were really cute.

She looked adorable presenting! Her dress may have been simple, and I agree, I wish she did wear something more avant garde, but her hair and makeup were on point.

Are you joking? I have never seen her wear havianas with a formal dress at an event. She always wears appropriate footwear.

I can only imagine what people would say if she would have worn something more creative. She chose to not outshine the real stars there, and if she would have done so, I bet she would be criticized for that. To be honest, I don't think her dress was even that more "boring" than most of the actresses on the red carpet, many wore dark colored, long dresses. It's GREAT that she designed it though, I think both that dress and the trophy girl dress were very appropriate for the event! She knows when to be more creative (like Hills events where she is the biggest star), and when to keep it super classy and elegant, and not too "out there" (like this event when she's not the biggest star).

I see your point and in a way people would have criticized her anyway. Had she worn something really out there they would have deemed her 'try hard'

Lauren is supposed to be representing reality tv. It is the theme of the Emmys this year and in a way Lauren and The Hills are pioneers of the genre... that is one of the reason she was invited to design an Emmy dress and present at this year awards. Reality tv stands for being spontaneous, outrageous and avant garde in terms of entertainment. Lauren should have been more bold in her choice of gown. She did not have to go all out like SJP but her dress was too plain. Not to mention, she is more known for her fashion sense than anything else. If she had shown up in a gorgeous Chanel gown ... it would have given her more credibility.

I have not seen the dress she design for the trophy girl yet... but I am sure that it is very nice, chic and appropriate for the event. Lauren should not have looked like a trophy girl... she should have looked like one of the stars.

I think her dress matched the event. She wasn't nominated or anything. She should leave the avant garde dresses for the actors and writers, producers. Also on a side note I wish she would take out her extensions for awhile so she could look a bit different.
