I'm rather proud of my legs--I'm an avid cyclist and have a lot of years of dancing behind me and had a lucky draw from the genetic grab-bag. My mom is 53 and still has marvelous legs. Lucky for me, I took after her in the leg department.
They're not skinny legs, as are in fashion right now, but they are very muscular and shapely, and I have never had cellulite, so that's something at least.
I have a better picture someplace, but my scanner is broken so I can't post it. I look like a chick from an R. Crumb drawing because of foreshortening (I was sitting on a boat deck with my feet up on the rail, and my husband took the picture while crouching down, about 3' ahead of me. It is hilarious.
I made this skirt out of pleather scraps from a cosplay outfit I did for a friend's daughter.
Whether or not I show my legs much does have a lot to do with my mood and what the weather is like. If it is cold, no way am I wearing a skirt, or if I do wear a skirt, it will be long, with sweater-tights underneath of it. Also, some times I just don't feel like dealing with the attention that any sort of physical display brings. I mean, I'm not a hottie type. You can see above. Totally average in the looks department, but some guys, they see a bit of skin, decent proportions, what-have-you, and they have to hoot and holler and pass commentary. If I'm feeling feisty, I may say something sarcastic back, if I am feeling pissy, I will toss off a hostile glare in their general direction (and if it is a drive-by harrassing, I *will* flip the bird). A lot of times, however, it just wears me out, so I don't even bother. Also, a lot of guys think you are available or trying to pull when you show a little leg, and I am married, and even when I was single, I wasn't one of those Bridget Jones types who are constantly on the pull.
So yeah, if the weather is nice, and I am feeling tough and confident, I will show a little (or a lot) leg, but I'm not like Paris Hilton, running around with my *** hanging out 24 hours a day.
