Leonor Varela

I Love her. she is my ideal, i would love to look like her. Honeyisle you rock for starting this thread : )

Yes! you're right... maybe she has something of Nelly Furtado..
And she seems to be such a great actress! I hope she's going to appear in more magazines or movies, i would love to see her! who knows of any movies she's doing??

She had such magnetism in Cleopatra... I like the fact that she did not have surgery for her scar, it makes her unique

shes gorgeous the first time I saw her was in Cleopatra. She was beautiful in it!

I'm dying to see some more candids of her but can't find any. She's got a striking face! I hope we'll see more of her films soon.

I am so glad I found this thread.
At this stage I will sound sheepish but I have to say that she was indeed magnificent in Cleopatra. I found her portrayal much more on the spot than Taylor's one (I found Elisabeth cold and there was poor chemistry with her on-screen lovers, imo). The whole serie was beautiful and hooking.
She is a gorgeous lady.

I think she's completely different to Penelope Cruz! Who knows in what movies is she going to be??

Honeyisle:flower: , thanks for starting this thread. Lovely Leonor is just so great:heart: . (That's her in my avatar.) I am for sure one of her major fans. Has anyone here seen her best film to date, Innocent Voices (Voces Inocentes) in which she plays a single mother of three little kids in civil war torn El Salvador? She put her heart & soul into Voices, and it shows! Or the romantic comedy Americano, opposite Joshua Jackson (DVD is availabel of Americano)?
Here are a few of her covers - my own scans:

Much more to follow - scans, videos & video clips.

Here are some adverts for Innocent Voices in New York magazines & newspapers from this past Oct (2005) when it was playing here in NY - my own scans. It won all sorts of awards, but did not go into wide distribution, playing only in "art" houses, and also in select cinemas in Latino nieghborhoods.
You can check out this film further, and watch the trailer, at its official website, here:
http://www.vocesinocentes.com/
There is a Spanish & English version.
I'm still waiting for the DVD. It's been issued in China & Singapore (!?!?), and, I believe, Mexico. But not yet here in the US.

I found this magazine cover so funny, because it's so old!, I'm from Chile so I'd love to read that article about "La batalla que viene...."

but anyway....she is gorgeous.... I love her exotic look.
She's acted in some chilean "teleseries" (soap operas, telenovelas) and she was really good in them.

The COSAS is from December 1997. The article "La batalla que viene....." is about the political situation in Chile at that time - how the country was still in a transitional period after the Pinochet years - and of the coming struggle among the various political parties to win elections and win the leadership of the country.
Leonor at the time was starring in the Telenovela Tic-Tac, and there's a great interview with her in the magazine.
Here are four videocaps from Tic-Tac (one is not so nice), a promo picture with her leading man, and also a magazine scan: all found at patopillo.cjb.net

She was gorgeous then, but she's even more beautiful now - nine years later.
