this is the best effort she's put towards making a legit career comeback. she's been looking beautiful. she's saying all the right things. she at least SEEMS to be committed to doing this play in London.
theatre ain't no joke. and the British press will tear her to shreds if she messes this up by being unreliable or difficult. this play, if it goes well, will do wonders for her reputation. people who work in film and television understand the level of commitment and responsibility that is required to do a full run of a stage production. it will - at the very least - crack open a few of the doors that have been shut to her for so many years now. she could start to rebuild trust with filmmakers and collaborators. and if she stays hard working and stays clean and keeps on focusing on the ART and the CRAFT and the WORK, as she so often says she wants to do, then someone will give her another shot in film. another genuine opportunity to show what she's made of as an actress.
i get a bit emotional, actually. haha. i guess i just love a comeback story more than anything else.
