^^i somehow agree with you...but still its pretty rude to say that...

I'm so bored of London. Does anybody from the South Pacific want to trade me? I think it is all the Eurotrash arriving here with some dream of London. SHUT UP. Go back to Europe. And I'll go to the South Pacific.

London is a big melting pot hardly anyone you see is 100% British, most people have immigrated from somewhere, would you like people to say that about you?

exactly...i was about to say the same thing
its not just in the last few years, its been like that for a long time...as you said, pucci_mama, its a melting pot and i think thats exactly what makes London what it is...different influences from all over the world...and that also influences the style, the music etc etc

I love London for what it is, I mean it has some of the most varied cuisine, people of any other big city, but sometimes you do need to get away... I suggest a trip to the Caribbean. ;)

After all, like Oscar Wilde put it: 'when you are sick of London, you're sick of life'.

We tend to idolize and dream about places we have never been.
Paris street style and Japanese street style threads are great examples of that kind of behaviour. :)

That's not what I mean. London IS a melting pot but that is not what I am talking about. There is this desperation amongst everyone who wants to come in. Like with the California gold rush. This false dream. It is just sad and signals recession. Once upon a time, the best of the best came to the city. Now it is any schmuck who wants to latch onto the ride and be an indie kid or whatever. Maybe that is what happened to New York at the end of the 80s. And it creates a wholly different atmosphere. Two summers ago, we were stil in the boom years. Now people can see the end coming. And yet all these small town people from abroad are still going on about these useless bands and useless trends that are dead. And it is a bit like, hello. Or it could just be winter. Who knows

I think it's winter getting to you.. either that or growing up.. because everyone thinks everything is the shiz when they are young and there will always be new people coming in... there will always be people that want to be the first to 'discover' boombox and those who never got it in the first place, or thought that whole scene was rather silly.

this is an awesome outfit! love it

^ Lol! And I have no excuse! I was in Mauritius like a month ago! I also have a bad habit of letting losers into my life without discretion at the expense of my friends who cannot stomach them. So basically life is down to the people who live it, not the situations they are in. Very wise pucci_mama!

Thanks for the karma Sienna, I'm glad we agree.:flower:

Anyway, on topic: re the last picture posted, she looks like a fashion victim, I really despise the crazy and thoughtless miss-matching which has really become the "fashionable's" uniform... can't there be anything new and fresh? Its so bloody 'look at me'.

I also blame magazines like Heat, Star, reveal for glamorising high street items that sheep will rush out to buy!!!

^nice pun, since she is wearing an awful lot o'mutton.

Ya it is way too messy. But the general London aesthetic IS kind of messy no? Not as bad as Japan but that kind of thing. It is great inspiration stuff but that is it. We don't have the Parisian lines but I guess it is a separate kind of beauty. Err not in this case I might add.

I still find the way facehunter portrays London style is not a good representation of what it is all over, I mean most of those pictures are from the East end aren't they? So they only represent the indie/scene crowd.

^^I just can't get over how much I love the studded Louboutins (in the third pic)! They just make the entire outfit!

I actually think the top half of her outfit is so much better...that shearling Rick Owen's jacket is to die for. the shoes are great in their own right, but I do not find them very flattering on her, in fact I think they make her look rather stumpy.

^yes, especially with that purse--my eye jumps all over the place. not a cohesive outfit.

I think the reason I really like these shoes is that they are so different from what everyone else is wearing. I mean, out of the four pics posted, which one has been talked about the most?;)
