Hi I been thinking about buying LV Manhattan GM for fall. I was wondering what anybody think about the GM bag. It is quite large. I need a new handbag for the fall. Any suggestions.

I've had mine for a while now and LOVE it!!! I carry tons with me so the size is perfect for me. Here is a pic. (BTW, I am 5'8"

www.vuitton.com then choose french as language and go to e-shopping. I think the prices are around 5% higher than in france

Hi everyone, I am not sure whether this is the right thread to post this question, but does anybody know what the VAT refund is in france for LV bags? I will most likely be making a trip there in the next few months and have heard from a few people that LV prices in Paris are the cheapest (relative to other countries)..... thanks so much guys....

gotta be around 12 or 13%, the French VAT is 19,6%. When asking at Goyard the SA said you get 13%, Printemps says International customers get 12%, so LV must be quite the same range

Value-Added Tax back when you leave the country. Basically, any duties/taxes you paid while on vacation in a country that you are not a resident of, you are allowed to claim back.

A friend of mine is going to Paris and really wants to buy a LV bag there because someone told her that the prices in Paris are much cheaper than in the US. I am a Chloe/Balenciaga girl myself, so I don't know anything about LV prices. I do know about the partial VAT refund you can receive, and taking that into consideration, can someone tell me if it is better to buy a LV in Paris (with the euro being stronger than the dollar, but receiving the partial VAT refund) than buying one in the US? Thanks in advance.

the vat is like 17%.

in the last 4.5 years the dollar has fallen 30% against the euro.

i think its better to buy in the states in a state that doesnt have sales tax. that would be ideal.

buying in europe is no bargain anymore. i dont plan to purchase any big ticket items in europe until the US's monetary policy changes, and they start propping up the dollar again.

and dont forget to factor in the high prices associated with converting the franc into the euro. a lot of retailers have helped themselves to price increases this eay.

Thanks, I am leaning towards telling my friend to buy it from a different state and have it shipped to her (thereby skirting the sales tax, but having to pay a small shipping fee). I just returned from Paris and London and was dismayed to see how little I was getting back on my VAT refunds. I didn't know enough about LV to give her any advice about LV shopping, so thanks for your advice.

They're embossed leather not vinyl. The first one should be in the $2k's, maybe more, not sure about the second.
