@sweet & simple:

Online shopping is not an option in France. European priceas tend to be written incl. taxes.

And yes, European prices PWN all the other International Prices. (23,000 HKD for the Tobago Carryall? Hell to Tha No!)

Since the ivoire speedy proved elusive, and I was still concerned about how difficult is was to get into I decided to get the Alma instead ^_^

I had this rather strange experience yesterday (well, to me it was strange but maybe its not, I dont know)..I was standing in line at H.M where I live to pay for some lingerine I wanted to by when I noticed that the lady in front of me was carrying a L.V.speedy..Of cause I tried to take a closer look at the bag and soon discovered it was fake..( The side seam, pattern on the bag where totally out of propotions), but the lady behind the counter did not notice the flaw, cause when it was the fake L.V. ladys turn to pay for her stuff she totally changed behaviour, chatting and laughing and sucking up to her, wishing her a great day when she left and so on.. just for the record, they didnt know eachother in advance cause the cashier lady didnt pay any attention to her and the sucking up didnt start until she placed the bag on the counter.....It started to irritate me cause Id seen how she treated the other customers and I so wanted to say to her, "hey earth to cashier, the bag is FAKE!!" But I didnt...Im not that rude..Its so sad that objects like that can make way for a better treatment in almost every aspects of life, especially when its not even for real:(

^ aww.. was she rude to u? get her name n write a complaint to the store. :) anyway, i just bought a red epi speedy 25 :D not fake of course. :p

^^ No, I wouldnt say she was rude to me, and I woudnt care if she was anyway, I dont need her aproval:p..It was just so very strange and a bit funny to watch how she changed from being a professional, "im a bit bored by this job" cashier clerc, to giggling, smiling and buttering up to a lady just cause she wore a L.V.(fake I must add)
Like I said, maybe its perfectly normal, I dont know, but the thing that irritated me the most is that the lady didnt "deserve" the special attention a L.V.owner is bound to get. I was irritated on behalf of real L.V. owners out there who has saved and forsaked to get this kind of bag... Dont get me wrong, I really want a bag like that, but I like to think its because Im buying a bit of history, not because It opens doors to me, If that was the reason I would obviously get away with a fake as it seems..LOL

And congrats with your new "baby" they are so very beautiful:):)

I agree that it is sad that people are judged by their wealth -- but that's the way it is. I would imagine that most people carry indicia of their status in some way -- it's entirely human -- although the object of status isn't the same for every person -- and often isn't linked to wealth per se.

What is very funny is that the clerk even cared who was buying something. I have seen this behavior often in swank stores since clerks depend on commissions and size up their customers -- of course sometimes they can be wrong especially in Los Angeles where people dress down -- but even here where people dress down, there are indicators of wealth in what they wear.

And (sticking my neck out a little here) if people are absolutely honest with themselves, one's passion for LV is of course influenced by branding and what it evokes. I would seriously doubt that if you put someone who was completely unaware of the relative price and status of various bags in front of a variety of nice bags, that they would necessarily choose the canvas bag with brown initials as costing what it does in relation to other well made attractive bags. I was in the LV Boutique this week and always come away baffled since in the end, they are just bags with incredibly high markups (like luxury perfumes) which subsidize less profitable aspects of the LMVH industry

Would you recommend an LV Epi St. Jacques (Long straps)?

Hi! Do any of you own the LV Epi St. Jacques with the long straps? :) Would you recommend this bag to anyone? Likes and dislikes about the bag pls... Thanks! :flower:

^Me too. Mainly cause they seem to be so cheap.

I want the golden clutch from this year's F/W collection. I also hate the fact that the members of this forum are better informed about next season's bags than the actual people who work at Vuitton shops.

If WE get a memo, why don't they?

i attendthe show 4 lv the bags r amazing , they r not going to make the golden cluch they will have them in silver and metallic rose also they r not leather !!! the material is v delicate that the salemen told to be v careful with it if i bought it !!!!

Salesmen? It's not even available yet, no? Most of the times, when I visit the Vuitton store months before the bags are sold, people don't even know what I'm talking about.

And I don't do silver or metallic rose.

And how did you get to attend the show? Do you work in a fashion mag?

i wanted one of those clutches too, but they're very high maintanence, scratch easily, etc....

those neverfuls though! so cute and yes i actually was surprised at the price. they do seem rather inexspensive...i mean compared to like a cabas or some other LV tote. plus the lining is adorable!

i m sur about my details as i attend the show bqz i was invited by lv to see the winter 2008 collection .
