Exactly. In a season when YSL tributes abound, you would think Pilati would have made an effort.

Marc did the right thing by having a fil-rouge run through LV and his own collection- that is how you set the pace after all! That he managed to do it masterfully and with such vigor is testament to his talent.
The styling is meant to be dense....DECA-DENSE. The more the better in this case because it all works in its cacophony of texture, print, color and cut. That is not easy to pull off.

I don't love it. I want to love it, and there are things I like a lot about it, but I don't love it. It reminds me of his S/S 06 LV collection, where everything but the kitchen sink was thrown in and it was much more loud and sexy than what people are used to from Marc. I feel the same way about this.

This is one of those times where I wish that Marc was more evolutionary than revolutionary, because I loved the f/w collection and he could totally have added a strong African vibe to it a la Grace Jones and Jean Paul Goude and taken it from there. But I guess that's just wishful thinking.

Every season there's always one of Marc's collections that says what he's thinking much better than the other. Last season I felt it was Vuitton, this season it was hands down his own collection in NY.

Paris is so surprising this season. Louis Vuitton never looks this good. Ive never liekd Louis Vuitton until now. This looks really good. The shiny coats on Vlada and the other girl are gorgeous! The shoes so sexy! But they have too many things on them....feathers, buckles.... I love the jackets' cuts, theyvre very nice.

Honestly i think the worst and weakest thing about this collection are the bags! Is he serious? None of them appeal to me, i wonder if the LV people are worried about that...

I like this.
Very close to his own collection and a weee little bit of Prada thrown in.
Some of it is really great but some is just straight up tacky but mainly because of the styling.

I adore this.

I don't get why people are reacting negatively to him doing the same thing here that he did for his own collection, he has been doing that since like s/s 06. LV tends to be richer, more luxurious and MJ tends to be a tad quirkier.

this collection is so beautiful. its like her took all the experimentation and deconstruction that he did in s/s 08 and really reigned it in. Its infinitely more beautiful and the color palette is way more appealing but it still has that sense of whimsy.

a great finish to fashion week.

I was thinking the exact same thing, I didn't even notice them tbh. Last season was similar. The clothes overshadowed the bags...it's nice actually.

who's the stylist here?. gotta love the drowning of clothing through the abuse of accesories and whatnot here, not in the most clever way, but surely understandable.

i hate the bags, but i generaly hate LV bags, so this is no surprise. i really love the color palette though, and also the shoes and the ysl and 80s excess feeling. it borders flashy but it isn't bad.
