THE COM-FIT SIZE - FALL-WINTER 2007/2008
The silhouette revolution and the reinterpretation of embroidery are the cornerstones marking the evolution of Love Sex Money.
This collection encompasses new harmonies of volumes - maximal as always - extremely wide on top, while being skin tight at the bottom. The macro-micro effect highlighted by the waist belts, often accentuates the femininity of the waistline.
The “Com-fit size” is this unusual volume chosen for the first dress that, on a size 42 (8 in America) has the measurements of a 46 (12 in America), still able to enhance the figure. A fit as comfortable as feminine named “comfit” (which means candy in French) for the sweetness it gives the dress.
Sequined oversized Eskimo jackets.
This collection boasts oversized waistcoats that transform into orylag parkas with knit hems and felt pockets. The baby like rounded necklines extend to reach the shoulders, doubling as small capes that can be worn over the Felt or soft wool jackets.
Displaying a pattern of strategically places zippers reveals the neckline, reaching the armhole or emphasizing a horizontal split on the cleavage. It is a triumph of volume!
This can also be considered a style that plays with the “absolutes” suggesting the pairing of pants / jumpsuits and wrapping tricot tops.
Ever present is the innovative embroidery research which serves as the trademark element of Love Sex Money. It is an analysis of new inventive patterns that purify the embroidering culture from a conformist perspective and from all obsolete decorative elements.
They have incorporated perspective molded tin cubes, which can be construed as, a little “Mondrian-esque” and reminiscent of Sean Scully's art while laying on wooden bases and neoplasticist suggestions that make the necklines noble and cross over the crepe cocktail dress busts.
Inlaid and trimmed in patent leather inspired material while being reminiscent of Bruno Molinari, we present the black mini dresses. There are see-through effects that mislead: curled fabrics that look like miniature glass tube embroidery and sequined trimmings that resemble ribbons of marcasite. Donning mutations and inversions of materials that brig leather flowers on the twin-sets, and the jewel button-holes enlarge, creating a precious brooch effect.
Mystic-punk: on the embroided skull's forehead shines a 100 karat amethyst. The stone, a symbol of intelligence, is placed on the third eye chakra. The dragon, recurrent image on dark-like tattoos, is printed on T-shirts and sportswear garments symbolizing prosperity and good luck. A cape entirely covered with clear sequins. Apotheosis of the non-embroidery embroidery.
An almost total black look is used to underline the graphics on the new silhouettes, enhancing thus the light projected by the embroidery work and the strong personality of the Love Sex Money woman. Deep purple and dark green are the new blacks. Gold, for renewed light, in every way.
