I would have coordinated the lipstick with the pinks of the petals ... IMO this dress does not flatter her figure. It's not difficult to do, so I would think it would be a no-brainer to do it ...

she looks great in green, but that dress is hideous. the cut, the pleats, the fabric looks something you'd find at hm... they did her wrong.

^ Also, the capelet would I think be a good look for someone very curvy, similar to bell sleeves. In this case ... not a good look.

Really don't like her makeup. It's usually so perfect, but the lipstick color simply doesn't work. I wih she had kept her hari simple too. I prefer her with short hair and I think it would've looked better. As for the dress the color is stunning and looks great agains her skin.It looked really great in motion, especilly how she moved it. Unfortunately the dress would've looked way more beautiful withtout thoshe weird sleeves. I hoe she'll make another appearence at Cannes 'cause this look is disappointing even though it had potential.

i know! why don't they put her in (or why doesn't she choose / wear) more fitted outfits? she has such a cute figure. why another "princess" look, like that dreaded oscar dress? sigh. and sadly, people will rave about this just like they did that cinderella dress, so she'll keep wearing them.

to me, her best red carpet look was that time she wore an emerald green strapless gown with bold gold bracelets and belt - i think it was dior. it wasn't super fitted but it was sophisticated and she killed it. would love to see more like that.

I liked her Oscar dress but I agree that she has such a killer body she should be wearing more structured dresses like the Dior HC from the Baftas that you mentioned , the black Christopher Kane that she wore at the London premiere of 12 years or her CK dress for the Vanity Fair party this year. If they want more flowy dresses they should go for something similar to her white Prada dress from the TIFF premiere of 12 years a Slave or her Lanvin dress from the Britannia awards. She had an amazing breakthrough stylewise and she has so much poise I wish her stylist would wake up and surprise us again.


The Gucci from last night was basically the same silhouette than her terrible Elie Saab from the SAG awards.

I hate this look, the dress is hideous. I can't believe they put something so ugly on someone as gorgeous as Lupita - she deserved a beautiful look, especially for Cannes. Hopefully we'll see more of her at the festival and her stylist will veer away from tacky awful dresses

I actually like the dress, its a great color on her, and the hair is regal. The only thing I would change is the lipstick, a softer/neutral color would have worked better with such a bold dress. She looks gorgeous.
