Agreed, this white dress is quite nice, and very well suited--much better than the Gucci. (Noticed in another thread that when Anna Wintour wore one of their capelet dresses, she pushed it off her shoulders & behind her--much better.) Can't see the shoes too well ...

She is very small in the bust area and I actually give her props for her confidence in wearing revealing dresses despite criticism to the contrary.


I'm probably in the minority here, but I love the gucci gown - love the grasshopper green colour and she seems to like the "deep V" style effect for her gowns. Love the hairstyle design too - a fitting tribute to African royalty, namely Princess Elizabeth of Uganda.

Also I don't think that she has lost her mojo - 2013 Oscar campaign season where she wowed us with her fashionista style on the red carpet has long gone. I think, she and her stylist have taken the right decision - to ease up on the fitted dress or gowns designs; but to include one knockout gown in the ensemble of designs as need be , take for example the CK pearl dress that she wore to this year's Oscar ceremony. I also think that Lupita does not want to be known simply as a fashionista, but more so an up and coming credible film director - j mo ☺

Lupita posted a video on her instagram of herself twirling in that white dress. I love the fun she has posing for the cameras, and I adore that she still posts pics of her heels/gown essembles on instagram. She keeps her private life private, but fashion is definitely one way she's made herself accessible to her fans.

I'm sure she wore the green gown because of the twirl factor. It's easier to wear revealing when anatomy is minimal, but I continue to believe the dress is unflattering. There are lots of revealing dresses that would be flattering to her figure type.

re: twirl factor, i like that she's having fun with fashion but the twirl factor can get tired kinda fast, at least for me.

The white dress is Oscar de la Renta.

Here she's wearing another custom Gucci gown. Much better than the first one. I would love to see her in Prada again, though.

All Michael Kors, believe it or not. I've seen this look in magazines since January, almost always photographed with very ethereal looking girls. It's really refreshing to see it on her.
