Lydia Hearst
"Heredera con glamour"
(Heiress with glamour)

She belongs to the famous ones with celeb surname, but his face rarely appears in the heart press. Her great-grandfather began the saga. Today, she just wants to be model.

She landed, gathered the award to the Best international model, she posed and left. We passed 24 hours in Madrid with Lydia Hearst, in that we had time to photograph her with the most sexy lingerie and to speak about her family, her career as model and her projects. Although she has never stopped the rotary one of Hearst Corporation, company that her great-grandfather founded, William R. Hearst, her face has led numerous magazines covers and fashion reportages. Contemporary of others big fortunes descendant, like the Hilton, Lydia prefers to happen the day working and not lead scandals. It's clear that her beginning in the fashion are not those of a top model. Few ones can say that her first work was for the VI cover with her mentor, Steven Meisel.

Be a model was your dream or was by chance?
Since I was young I had that contact with fashion and movies world. Mi mother was actress and model, I went with her to the filmings and I liked that.

You also worked as actress, in Gossip Girl, and till as columnist in New York Post. What did you like more?
To be honest, I like it all. They are completely different and I love to be qualified to diversify and to be involved in different aspects of the industry.

Are you thinking in work in some magazine of your family company, Hearst Corporation, as your cousin Amanda?
For the time being I have worked more with magazines of Condé Nast. I prefer it.

Which are your next projects?
I want to keep on doing what I'm doing all the time be possible. For me this work is very gratifying, every two days I'm in a different country, another city, in completely diverse ambiences, with new people... I like to travel, as well, you never know what happens tomorrow. For the time being I adore what I do. It's necessary to live the moment.

You've collaborated with Puma for launching a bag. Have you thought to create a line clothes as other celebrities have made it, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan...?
No, I don't want to make something that stop my model career. I adore my work and I'm concentrate in it.

Do you feel inside a generation of rich and famous heiresses with famous surname?
Really I haven't anything in common with all that (laughs). I don't feel that way. I simply feel like a model, even like an actress. I like neither qualifying by any means, neither comparing me with anybody.

You've turned into a socialite of New York, how do you take the fame?
Apart from my work and some occasional events, I have a quite private life. I prefer not to go to night clubs and to get up soon, I don't feel the pursuit of the paparazzi. But I believe that there is to take care of one yourself.

What do you do in your free time?
I work a lot. I don't have free time. For some months ago I don't stop any day. When I can, I like to go on a trip, to the bowling, to swim, to fishing...

What icons do you have?
I admire a lot of people. Writers, models... I like Twiggy, but, above all, I admire my mother.

(Patty Hearst, Lydia's mother, was kidnapped in the seventies by "the Army Simbionés of the Liberation". Once set free it turned into a generational icon, occasional actress and muse of the film director John Waters. The whole reference to the career of the model.)

How is the relation with your mother?
I pass a lot of time travelling, and I miss my parents and my sister. I try to keep the most contact with them.

What's your vision of your family?
I don't know how one sees from the outside, but we take a very normal life, it's the best. I grew in a very small city, and it was brilliant.

(sorry for my English, I did the best)

I adore how she tweeted photos during her way to the Oscars.

PONY RYDER: You are 5'7 tall BUT with your determination you managed to beat all your 6'0 colleagues! You were named the supermodel of the year 2008, booked prestigious campaigns, etc… How did you manage to do that? x
LYDIA HEARST: I am short and I love it! I wouldn’t want to be one of those girls who are 6’0” because then I wouldn’t be me. Of course when I started that was the only thing people noticed, how short I am. But that never stopped me from working hard and doing what I love. Besides, there are always heels! And, it doesn’t hurt that I photograph tall.

x
My mom always taught me to be positive and to be grateful for every day. Working in this industry, I had to grow up pretty quickly. But I wouldn’t change that for the world.

PONY RYDER: What kept you motivated?
LYDIA HEARST: I stay motivated because this is my life and this is what I love to do. My passion for life and experience drives me. And I measure my own success by happiness, and I could not be happier than I am right now.

PONY RYDER: Besides PRADA and all the other prestigious jobs, you also booked Playboy., GQ etc… You looked amazing in Playboy! You captured the essence of seductive Marilyn Monroe! What is sexy for you? What would you suggest to women who’d like to improve their sex-appeal?
x
LYDIA HEARST: I love being a woman. It’s fun to wear makeup and flirt and have breasts and a perky butt. It is much easier to appear sexy on camera with a team of professionals helping you look a specific way.

It is important to be comfortable with yourself and feel sexy and confident in your own skin. There is nothing sexier or more beautiful than the human body.

PONY RYDER: You did the NARS, MAC and Clinique ad campaign! What type of beauty treatments you prefer?x
LYDIA HEARST: Honestly I live my life trying to avoid the sun, cigarettes and alcohol. I’m not going to say I’ve never had a tan or a cocktail, but those are all the worst things anyone can expose their bodies to. I always try to stay hydrated and drink at least a gallon of water a day.

The entire interview didnt fit the limit so this is just a small part.
