MacBook

I love the newish MacBook and MacBook Pro with the black glass frame. Probably the most beautiful laptop on the market.

I got the 13" pro 3 weeks ago and it's been amazing. Beautiful design, beautifully done..really just well done haha.

leyla ... me too would say the MacBook Pro 13' ... it can get into every bags ...
though if you watch a lot of movies, tv shows on yr computer, the 17' is what you need ...
15' is also available ...

i would not recommend the 'air' one ... if you haven't another one laptop ...
as nicesthing pointed out, some stuff are missing on this one !

just get a macbook pro 13 or 15. air is silly to me. i mean, they're pretty useless if one is investing and actually plans to work on them.

has anyone bought and/or experienced the new snow leopard yet? it's only 29$ and says makes everything run a bit faster and smoother.

i have a white macbook, bought it just one year ago and the dvd slot is broken. well i can still play the dvd, but he can't eject the dvd anymore. the store a bought it from blames that damage on me, that i probably dropped the laptop and that's why something inside was bent, but i can't remember dropping my laptop! i'm really careful with it :( has anyone ever had a problem like this, too?

got it. it's much faster + love little changes they made, new quick time is awesome

thanks everyone!
i guess the air is pointless if it has no cd drive...
i will have a look at the pro 13 today and compare to the vaios i usually get

when it comes to (physical/cosmetic) damages, apple is sort of rude i think ...
like nothing can happen to their machines ...

Don't you have the Apple Care ?
Anyway, when not a lot of people report a problem, Apple thinks this is yr fault ... You should go on an Apple Forum Discussion and see it has already happened ...
Not sure you'll find tons of people with this particular problem here on tfs ...
You should have a look here :

Snow Leopard is very nice. The changes are very subtle but overall the system is much more streamlined.
I agree about the Air. It is pretty worthless. Exploitation and consumerism in the purest form...

Also, for those looking to buy a new computer.. you must remember that Apple also introduced an intermediate notebook this yr. as well...
More space than the basic macbook, but not quite the power-horse of the Pro. Lets face it, unless one is doing heavy design work or storing incredibly large files/programs, the Pro is waste of money if it is not going to be utilized accordingly. The intermediate notebook is priced @ 1299 whereas the Pro is 2000 before insurance, taxes, etc.

do not get a white one, it chips easily if you are a heavy user the new aluminum looking ones are far superior

The new MacBook is the way to go ... perfect for road warriors. Sadly, I think I've become inseparable from mine ... :-(

i have a white macbook 13" (couldn't afford the pro XD i'll just tell myself it isn't much different) and i really love it. so much more than my old windows laptops. i love how the MB fits into all of my bags and i can take it along to practically everywhere. i always had to haul my laptop along in a separate bag - so annoying.

the only thing i hate though is how the white goes "dirty" so easily. anyone here got tips on how to clean the keyboard of the MB best?

^Buy CD-cleaning wipes. They work wonders

I finally got the 13.3" unibody MacBook Pro and I LOVELOVELOVE it! Finally I can multitask with music editing and photo editing and not spend my time looking at the spinning beachball! :D

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and I love my computer much much more now.. Its faster and more responsive than before. The Stacks are cooler, I like the fact that I could dig through folders without opening the Finder.. And Quicktime looks fierce! Haha..

The upgrade's totally worth it. I'm glad I did.. :)

What kind of msn do you guys use? I've used both aMSN and MSN:Mac since the beginning.. I like aMSN because it's faster at displaying contacts info but I only use it for the webcame feature.. the rest of the time I'm on MSN:Mac since it displays your music player and.. just feels cleaner, less pirate .. what brings me here.. is this.... I couldn't log in for an entire day this week and today, I logged in and I could see not just people with their regular (available/busy/brb/etc) status but also offline people :o.. I'm not sure if this is only new for some of us or anyone else is experiencing the same 'feature'.. I find it extra creepy and.. I HATE IT. :ninja:

eta: aMSN is doing this too, I see.

I don't seem to be experiencing that on my msn...Hmm, curous though, at least for a day. I want to know who else is playing my game :ninja:

^ do you use any of the above, ybf?. anyway, you can currently experience the thrill with aMSN and msn:mac.. try and see, it's fun but scary, I don't care much for people who want to appear offline but I wonder who can see me now. *paranoid* :ninja:

I paid $1800 AUD for my 13", dropped it about a a mtere from the ground on a stair step. The screen broke while it was in one of Apple's casings with books and school papers also acting as a defence barrier inside the casing. (I use it for higshchool)

The screen broke and its going to cost me 1200-1500 AUD to fix it. Oh, and my $500 warranty doesn't cover a broken screen whereas other brands like Dell will come to my house to fix it or they will give me one to use while it is being fixed. They told me the screen was a part of the computer or something? Righto.

I am never buying a Mac again T__T
