Amazing collection.

These have been been recycled from a travel garmet bag. Called "the travel jacket".

heu.... the second jacket is a suitcase! it's funny... and well made.
the presentation was behind a glass?! ...ouh original!

E2 already did the recycled thing.... it's good but was waiting for more.

July - Slashed top made out of 4 men's rock t-shirts, slashed vertically and assembled to create a top for women. Top: 12 hours/1235 euros and my favorite the June - Bathrobe made out of vintage unused bath towels of varying weaves and motifs. The towels are overdyed in dark colours to create a patchwork of textures, stripes and embroidered emblems. Robe: 27 hrs/3120 Euros.

the price are very good for Couture!!!! and I like how he writes the Hours spent on it... as a very recurent argument of Couture is "we spent a lot of hours on it... etc." ironic. good.

actually,i believe MMM started and revolutionised the mere idea of recycled fashion. it's become part of his spirit. but it's beside the point....it's not really a question of originality or mere style anyway....it's become a technique that designers should puruse more often,I think. just imagine how much that would cut costs down.

not irony, dear BR....it's the truth. remember, everything in this collection is all handmade....from the seamwork to the overall construction and the detail as in the braiding i mentioned in that dress. it may not appear as such because it isn't tradtional in it's presence but underneath it all,it's really quite as extensive as any Gaultier or Lacroix.

I think the fact he tells us the hours spent on a dress is not just like that... so I thought it could be sthg ironic about how much is the price of couture dress because of their fabrics and time-work on it...(well that's a very heard argument on chanel etc.)

as it is supposed to be in every couture collections...

i didn't know... thank you.

well,it's not really about irony it's honesty. which is quality he has upheld since he begand. and like so many of his Belgian compatriots,he wants whosoever is interested to know what they get. it's just the genuine nature of who he is.

Far far far more interesting than most of the traditional couture collections.....

I have to agree because I like that they put the number of hours that goes into a certain piece and it's different not only in the pieces that you see but it costs significantly less than most other HC while still managing to be interesting.

thankyou scott :flower:
i think this idea is brilliant- i love the more delicate pieces

wow..thanks scott, it looks as brilliant as his very last couture collection. is there a way you could find a closeup of that corset look-alike item in the back of post #5?. s'il vous plait -_-

^it's a men's waist-coat....just like the oil painting dress! ;) ^_^

It's not just the amount of work in it, it's also the originality of the idea, bravo! :) Every MM I've owned, even an inexpensive t-shirt, has a concept behind it. Love that suitcase jacket, scarves dress and black robe.
