Marc Jacobs F/W 07.08 NYC

i could look at this over and over... the colours, the odd decorations on the bags, the jewellery:heart: i wish they'd post the whole collection already:ninja:

Great! It was time Marc Jacobs moved on from his grunge-style and I think it worked out wonderfully! This is something so new and fresh compared to all other collections! Even though, I admit, many of the items aren't what I would wear, bit bland and baggy, I love the accessories and how it looks on the models! I am satisfied!

meh, lukewarm about the Gatsby-esque collection. although i like the rather played-out ribbon draped black top in #94 and i could definitely see selma blair rock the maroon and black dress in #97

the knitwear patterns, and some of the asymmetries remind me of the italian futurist movement.:ermm:

the hands on one of the sweaters and the p*ssy bows ring a schiaparelli-esuqe bell in my mind (like her trompe l'oeil knitwear bow)
and yes, all very elegant 30's via 70's YSL.
it's a nice mix of references...

:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

not what i was expecting at ALL from marc, but that's why i love it so much, and what makes it such a marc jacobs collection.

bravo :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

i also really really REALLY love the fact that there isnt a single legging, tight, spandex, or other type of skinny black legwear thats become soooo overused these last couple seasons, after making it a big trend last fall himself

woah. i'm shocked.

a very VERY VERY vintage YSL feel. so un-marc...is he over the "grunge" feel now that everyone is doing it?

this collection just doesn't seem to fit in with any of this others.

love the bags. and the clean cuts are sort of refreshing...

i lied, i just noticed some leggings, i forgive him though, as i still really love this collection :flower:

Wow I LOVE this! What an improvement! Maybe LV will go back to being classy now.

This collection rocks my socks off. There's a strong 70's vibe. You can see YSL as well as Halston in these clothes. The 30's art deco touch is great as well. And those shoes!

I hate being mean but I highly doubt there's such a thing as a marc term..he pretty much swings where the tide is heading and things point out to the 30s at the moment.. one season he's alaia, next he's rei, he's yves now and the in some future, he might as well be dries. he pretty much cheapens every look and therefore makes it more accessible, hence the great success.

on positive notes, it's a nice-looking collection. not very enthusiastic but I'm very loyal to the 30s..especially when twisted a little. :heart: ^_^

the long & lean silhouette and satin minidresses look very miu miu spring 2007

Reminds me of Miu Miu. The shapes, colors, and unknown faces.
