Marc Jacobs S/S 07 NYC

the ivory coats are pretty nice. other than that, i can see where it isn't for everyone.

loving the color palette used, but not much else...

I like the shoes, I like some of the bags. I like a few pieces, like some of the jackets and stuff but otherwise some of this stuff is either boring or tacky.

I'm kind of on the fence. I don't get the usual Marc Jacobs vibe from this collection. I HATE the metallics and those silly hats. They bring nothing. I remember watching some stupid women on fashiontelevision talk about all the metallics brings out the happier things and blah, blah, blah (with the war..etc) But I do like the draping pieces along with the "toilet paper" pieces. And I like his take on the quilted bags but it kinda becomes overkill with so many of them. (metallics...yuck)

The music was Pachelbel's Canon in D (I think?)

I have the list of who what was wearing.. it was a great show! Karen Elson looked incredible! Iekeliene opened, Tanya closed.

Anna Wintour attended, of course, Ashton Kutcher, 50 Cent, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova.. etc!

dislike the metallics but some of the layered dresses i liked though i think they could do without the HUGE FLOWER (im getting angela-projectrunway vibes). completely LOVE the layered dress on the asian model! and also this other bubblish dress on the other asian model (sorry im not very good with faces / name -remembering) the rest im so-so though it seems to be growing on me....

HAHAHAHA!!! Karma!!!! I thought the same thing!!!!

at first i was more in love with the runway than the collection, but i actually fell in love with the clothes after looking at each outfit piece by piece. Some of the jackets and dresses are beautiful, it just seems to me the way marc put them all together as an outfit came out a mess (too much layering). and i :heart::heart::heart: the dress on karen, those sleeves are to die for.

the bags tho...

Classy Model Usurps Celebs at Marc Jacobs

At Marc Jacobs, the shoes worked better offPhotograph by FirstView

It was a scene at Marc Jacobs: Ashton and Demi attracted such a big crowd that Posh Spice slipped by almost unnoticed. Fifty Cent was there with a date who, it seemed, forgot to wear a top. The kelly green runway was perched atop a river of turquoise bonbons, which Marc Jacobs — so thin and buff when he took his bow you could almost hear the gasp — has clearly not been eating. The show's very first model got a great big round of applause for stepping out of her uncooperative Lucite slides and carrying them in her hands like it was the newest trend. — Amy Larocca

Ouch. I may not really like Iekeliene, but if you open a show, you hope for that not to happen.

Hmm. I am iffy about the line, some peices I am in LOVE with, others are just..no for me.

This collection isn't even worth being called a "collection". The bags look so budget and the shirts look like trash sacks. The outfit on Karen looks like a pair of testicles and the shoes are as ugly as you can get. The only thing that entertained me was the girl who broke her shoe or whatever lol very funny.

Good for Tanya. I know I keep mentioning her everywhere and I look like I'm mindlessly praising her, but I'm so happy for the success she's having. Has anyone else noticed that her look has matured quite a bit? I can see her having more fans now. ^_^

I am really liking the layering. The metallics, not so much, but then again I was never really a big fan of metallics. Great bags, too.

wow, i LOVE it. the bags are to die for! i cant wait to get my hands on one... hopefully. the details (jewels, etc.) are kind of reminding me of miu miu's recent s/s '06 collection, no?
