Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta

Yeah this is a miss. He’s out of his element here. I get that Kering Beauté needs to make waves and he’s one of their faithful soldiers but he really should’ve left this to people who know what they’re doing. I’m not convinced Mathieu is the type of gay that would browse through the beauty department of a store, he looks like the 3-in-1 shampoo/bodywash type.

I like it - it’s very much in line with Murano’s principles in spite of, maybe sometimes, unfortunate shape of that bottle. But more that the bottle I’m interested in content of it - will definitely have a proper sniff next time I’ll visit BV.

I have really been looking forward to this..... but this bottle.........i also like the murano aesthetic.... but the shape is not good....

Sad!

It´s a turd, it´s a turd!!

He’s happy as a lark at BV, and he’s never been the overly ambitious type, I don’t see it. And I’m under the impression that Chanel is looking for the ultimate image creator, which he is not. Quite frankly I think he’s exactly where he should be, he’s talented but he’s not made for brands like Chanel or Vuitton.

The high jewelery collection consists mostly of already established forms from the silver and gold plated collections that already existiert.

Now in massive Gold and more jewels, diamonds.

Don’t know what’s with the negativity here. As a fragrance lover with a humble collection of close to a 100 bottles, I love this!

The perfume bottles under Tomas look fine but also quite average by today’s standard and do not at all align the artsy flair which Blazy brings to BV today. If it’s anything safe I’d be quite disappointed. Despite looking slightly phallic, the new perfumes glass bottles actually feel very nice on hand because of their subtle curvature and weight. Admittedly the scents are not the most groundbreaking but all 5 are pleasant to me (almost crowd pleasing). The only thing I can pick on is the cap - although using a wooden cap instead of plastic is already a nice touch, I wish the cap is wrapped in leather, such a missed opportunity!

Y’all just hating cuz you can’t afford it lol (jk. I get how the phallic shape can turn some ppl off, no pun intended).

Almost one hundred bottles is not a humble collection at all!

The bottle reminds me of Samba perfumes, from the 90s-early 2000s.

Do they sell them in Bottega Veneta stores only? Or also at Sephora and the likes?

At the moment only BV Stores.... I could see that the distribution gets more wider in a few months.

But I do not see the fragrances at Sephora... maybe Flagship Sephora...BV fragrances are simply too expensive for mass market.

I think they limit the points of sale to such haute parfumerie Stores by time.........the same way Creed is distributing.

In my ome city, small university city, for example there is a high end perfumery which sells only those luxury fragrances.... I could see the BV things in such san environment.

Me neither. At that price point there’s no way they are putting that in Sephora. In fact not all boutiques carry the perfume at the moment, only some of larger ones in key markets (and I was told by my SA even mainland China stores don’t have that yet?!)

They are boutiques/websites exclusives as for every brand with a niche line.

To be honest, so many brands are jumping on the bandwagon of niche lines with extended collections that I’m more inclined to go back to mainstream old success.
I can still do Serge Lutens, Diptyque but I’m more into old mainstream success/fails from those big brands.

However I command the approach to Haute Joaillerie! He is making BV his own and it’s commendable because it’s not an overwhelming presence.
