I honestly don’t think MissTweet’s all that people make her out to be, she’s just another semi-insider with a few connections here and there. Except unlike most others, she’s not attached to a publication or some sort of bigger entity so she can fling everything she hears onto the web with little consequences. A couple of good scoops out of the kitchen sink she throws at us is enough to get her credibility.

his BV is only so slightly successful because he is still under lee's shadow.... no way can he head a brand from the beginning. His works are too complicated for its own good and has 0 character.

I think the success has more to do with the artisan team.

than she been right on many other things ...also if one don't trust a news source why read into it ....i don't think she aggressively pushed or confirmed she JG was out at LV its always written in context of sources and insiders notions and ideas and thing can look strongly like its headed into that direction while few days later change for other reasons we wont ever know.


i know people at mm and they were also left in the dark for a while because JG expressed himself to the team his unhappiness with the owner of MM and also did not continue to work as extensive while negotiation where taking place before summer

A hot take, fashion has nothing to gain from Chanel right now, maybe in 10 years when tacky reality tv stars and influencers hold no power over media. Anyone with actual talent will just go into early retirement with a Chanel appointment.

I don’t know who are “we”, but he’s only been gaining momentum in the wider media. Not that I think it would be a good appointment but the big houses will always look to general public rather than fashion-y people.

I should rephrase that, “I” am tired and bored… But nonetheless I agree in disdain!! :/ the bar is low, which comes as no surprise and fitting of these big houses!

I actually think that fashion has a lot to gain from the next appointment at Chanel.
Chanel defined the current economic landscape of fashion, the way brands show fashion and from a pure fashion stand point, it’s also a base, a « repère » un curseur!

Chanel is still the biggest fashion brand in the world and so, no matter what, people will look at the brand and it moves to see where the direction of fashion should be.

They went so much into commercialism in the past 4 years that everybody followed.

The designer of Chanel will have some kind of authority. We saw it with Virginie. No matter whatever crap she designed, it sold well.

And it’s a bit what I see in the desire of some people to have Hedi Slimane there. He is an authority and so having an authority at the biggest fashion brand in the world is a statement!

And I think it will be good to attach some kind of fashion forward-oriented talent to one of the big fashion house. Schiaparelli being the most anticipated Couture show during the Couture week is not good!
