McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

well-- that's one way to save on a budget...
NO models!...
probably no real stylist either...
just an assistant or something...
hell- the photo asst could just fix the 'clothes'...
it's really just a still life..and they often work without a stylist...
budget cuts all around...

:ermm:.......

there's also a long cardi/jacket that was in that article posted for the headlines area.

i think its a great idea actually to have the dolls modeling it in the ads.

first of all, the dolls are rare and hard to find..i want one but i dont want to pay hundreds of dollars for them. hopefully they will be rereleased again...

I like the ad, its a cool idea.
I can't wait for this line but I'm afraid that it will sell out quickly

Haha I got all excited too. I'm like oh my gosh there will be a Blythe doll too???!!! I gave up trying to get one, it seems too hard unless you have a contact in Japan.

I am so excited for this collection. Thankfully I just want that harness dress. I hope my target gets it, though I am in po-dunk Athens! haha Weds. morning I'll be there.

this is probably going to sell as fast as the cdg for H&M.

McQueen for Target

When Western fashion designers talk about expanding into new global markets, they’re often referring to far-flung frontiers like China and Dubai. But Alexander McQueen, it seems, is more interested in places like Cleveland and Milwaukee. “Apart from the East and West coasts, my company doesn’t have any visibility in the U.S.,” he told WWD. “I always liked the idea of people in the Midwest wearing my clothes; the idea of this upstart from London going where people haven’t heard of me.” To make his vision a reality, McQueen has signed on with a retailer that knows a few things about the center of the country: Target. Launching in March, McQ Alexander McQueen for Target will feature clothes with a Brit-rock vibe, including studded jeans, tuxedo jackets and prom-style dresses. The collection maxes out at $129.99 and kicks off Target’s Designer Collaborations initiative, which employs big fashion names to create one-time-only lines for about 250 stores, with each designer choosing a muse. (The program builds on the success of Target’s Go International, which features up-and-coming designers and is sold in most Target stores.) McQueen’s inspiration was Liela Moss, lead singer of London band the Duke Spirit. “I was looking for someone with the uttermost feeling of McQ,” McQueen told WWD. “She’s a great-looking girl and has a personal style.” Time will tell whether Middle America agrees.

This will sell out the minute it hits stores. For the gal who said she is getting it after school.. Everything will be sold out even the bigger sizes Im sure. Online it will sell out within seconds! Especially the leather vest and grey jacket!

and yet the preview collection will be in NYC and it is limited to 250 stores.

^yes, target is based in minneapolis though. and there is a larger concentration of target stores out there than in the rest of the country.

people LOVE target out there.

How does one find out which stores it will be available in? Do I just have to wait and see? Because I will be mildly infuriated if the collection is not at any Target near me.

Yes, plus he could at least say 'most' people. :ermm:

i think it is going to be a game of wack-a-mole to find the stores that are actually carrying the line. not to mention that some stores will have it earlier/later than others...

Okay guys, I just found out NYC residents will get a chance to snatch up McQ before anyone else in one of those Target pop up stores.

It will debut on Feb 14 and 15.

Did anyone else hear about this?

^yes, we know. the info and posters are posted on the previous page.

Yeah, I just noticed that and couldn't edit the post.
