McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

A couple of things look interesting to me, but I think Target is making a HUGE mistake if it is planning to use this in place of Isaac Mizrahi. Mizrahi's style was classic enough to appeal to all kinds of women of all ages. I think it needs to reach that same audience. This looks a little avant-garde and I doubt it will go to size 18/XXL like the Mizrahi line did. In fact it looks like it will just attract the same people who buy the Go International stuff.

it's not actually a mainstay replacement for mizrahi but a short-lived,limited endeavour to sort of counter-act the in-house label for the go line. you know,to satisfy those that count on the designers. therefore they are wanting to continue to attract those types of customers.

I honestly don't see anything I don't like! The harness dress and the denim grey jacket look like things I might need, though..

I like the McQueen for Target collection a lot actually, though it looks a bit boring, I think the pieces will look cool with other outfits, because they are sort of basics, so I think they will have the ability to jazz up other outfits.

As for the other Go International collections, I agree that they have been overwhelming, but I picked up a few pieces from the Thakoon collection, and I am very pleased. I say that the Thakoon collection is the best one yet.

i read that this isn't "Go International" but rather a new thing called "Designer Initiative" for designer collaborations...

i guess they see the Go International bit as something for less known, up and coming designers and maybe they'll do the designer initiative with more established names?

I think the designer initiative stuff is also more exclusive... only appearing in approx 250 stores instead of every store like the go international stuff...

this is probably at the beginning of the thread as well but i guess it didn't sink in for me until recently since i read about it again

it's also more expensive than the GO collections...

^Thanks. Looks like the previous collection of photos is the "best of" this collection. Not too impressed by the tees and leggings.

I get a real VPL feel to this line with the bikini and harness dresses. Not so much McQ, but admittedly I am not too familiar with McQ stuff.

i dunno,i think it resembles mcq line to a 't'. very much that aesthetic. and for such an endeavour it does not look mass market to me. just looks like a cheaper designer bridge line. and that to me makes me happy because i only like these things when they're authentic and true to what they normall would do.

that leather gilet is really calling my name for some reason.

I really like the sleeveless black dress. This is cute, and I like it but it's probably too young for me
