McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

Hey, those pictures in #97 actually look a bit more promising! Although they do bring to mind the awful SS08 collection.

I don't get it when people say designers are being "democratic" with this, though. For example, I would love to afford McQueen's main line - and still it doesn't bring me any relief if he does a collection for high street, because those clothes have nothing but the name to do with the clothes I would buy had I got the means to. So I don't see how someone who dreams of McQueen clothing benefits from this...

Besides, isn't this more "McQ" than "Alexander McQueen"? McQ has never had anything in common with the main line, the McQueen we see on the catwalk.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that. My instincts tell me that it will be a mixture of the two. Since McQueen is obviously using this to spread his brand around, I'm sure he is going to use this as an opportunity to introduce BOTH lines. Besides, that kimono is straight from Fall 2003 ( i was off) see the pic for yourself.

And if you thought that I was lying about the pattern, here is the link to it:

That's exactly how I feel.:innocent:

I love the third kimono and gray pants ensemble.

The first I could get from any any thrift store though.

I want that kimono.

Bad for reputation or not or this 'n that, this should be interesting to see unfold and I already see an item I like. I'm so checking this out.

thanks for the preliminary pics :flower:

i'm liking that second outfit (the dress) but need closer looks at the prints etc before i really form an opinion..

Why does he not team up with a store which we have access to in the UK!!!
remember your roots mcqueen! hahaha

wow, i am intrigued by this upcoming collection. can't wait to see more photos!

im not convinced that the photos posted on the "target addict" blog are indeed from the collection. a press rep from target has apparently disavowed the pics.

so take those with a grain of salt. it may be a hoax.

I am think that they might be that Kimono jacket is really similar to S/S 2008

thanks for telling that lucy as those are actually mc-q line photos...i just had a gander at the pre-s/s 09 mcq on the web site and they are in the line-up.
