Show’s finally over, guys. I haven’t eaten all day because of this 😭😭😭

My favorites off the top of my head are Brian Tyree Henry, Ugbad Abdi, and Tessa Thompson. Shocked but happy to have not had to endure Addison Rae or Gabbriette on the carpet.

I think it's also like.. are you interested in pop culture or nah. I'm in my 30s and I also recognise most of them.. have I watched the movies of some of these people? no, but I know some of them act, others are musicians, etc.
I'm 40 and I know very few of these people but it's wonderful to see a new generation coming to fashion

Anne Hathaway looks fabulous; Kerry Washington is so elegant too
I love the idea of black dandyism, zoot suits & tailoring (but maybe quite a bit of repetition this time around).
Colman Domingo's black & white look is great; he's just wonderful all round.

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed this year's Met red carpet.
After all those dramatic trains and "surprise" reveals over the past few years... yeah, it got old.
(Except for this year's madre Diana Ross.. she's untouchable.)
This year’s crisp tailored suits and sharp cuts? Exactly the refresh i needed.

First post on here and it will probably be a long one since I have not been chosen to write my company’s coverage for this event.

My Best Dressed:
-Zendaya (Smart looking but what a disaster going after the legendary star power that is Diana Ross)
-Raul Domingo (Better dressed than his husband who not only was a co-chair but decided to change and do the carpet all over again)
-Monica Barbaro (love it, obviously with it being the Dior bar suit.)
-Gigi Hadid (Fabulous. I can’t tell if she is starting to grow on me after all of these years of hating her. But her response and describing the black designer from the 40s that inspired this look is a more remarkably mature chat compared to the past.)
-Lana Del Ray (nothing to do with the event but I thought it was beautiful. I usually am not fond of her sartorial choices. The feather at the shoulder is an elegant touch, old world type haute couture look.)
-Brian Tyree Henry (the cape/opera shawl coat is an exquisite piece. Andre Leon Talley would have worn it granted in a more voluminous way.)
-Stephanie Horton (maybe a bit safe or boring to most people but it looks so inspired by those Jazz Age dandies.)
-Fei Fei Sun (just beautiful. When I was watching it on the red carpet, it was like a breath of fresh air.)
-Lupita Nyong’o (stunning but lose the hat)
-Cristina Baxter (not on theme but it was different and I liked it)

The Best Moment: Diana Ross being the grand diva and shutting down the carpet.

The Worst Dressed:
-Emma Chamberlain (mediocre)
-Teyana Taylor (At first I thought I liked it but then as I kept watching her interview the other guests I grew to hate it, looked like a Party City pimp costume.)
-Anna Wintour (I love the woman or rather her legend but I’m going to talk to her directly. Girl it’s okay to show your legs, feet and arms. We know you are old but we need to lose the old lady hippie chic clothes. This would have been a perfect event to come dressed as the high powered executive you are.)
-Law Roach (I simply detest this person so that may be clouding my judgement. However the hair looked better than the long mess he usually sports.)
-Kylie Jenner (a hot mess who just needs to go away)
-Kim Kardashian (not as bad as Kylie but still needs to go away)
-Doechii (I hate it)
-Doja Cat (The street walker whose shack caught on fire and grabbed whatever clothes she could)
-Lauren Halsey (The homeless were apparently invited, what is with the cap?)
-Andre 3000 (How did he even fit through the doors to get into the museum?)
-Amelia Gray (Someone call Unsolved Mysteries because Amelia Earhart was at the Met Gala after spending the last 88 years working in a Spanish brothel.)
-Precious Lee
-Future (Looks like the janitor at Chanel)
-Sha’Carri Richardson (A representative for the Pentecostal churches across the American south. A disaster, the hair is the worst)
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz (Now showing the polyester blend bed spread available now at Hot Topic)
-Gayle King (just send her back into orbit along with Katy Perry. Mission Time: Indefinite)
-Stefano Diggs (I love fur and real fur in particular but how many hamsters from PetSmart did you kill for that rag you choose to wear?)

Suggestions:
-Demi Moore (Lose the weird Star Trek portal around your head and shoulders)
-Tyler Mitchell (Please go away, become an apprentice for 5 years with one of the few great photographers left before you get another byline.)
-The Grills. I have always hated this concept and tonight just instilled that hatred even more. Disgusting to have gold, diamonds or crystals covered in saliva and food.
-Lizzo just light the cigarette already and really create a statement.

Surprises and Statements:
-Why is Will Welch there? Did he pay for his ticket or did Condé Nast just write it off as an expense?

-Speaking of Condé Nast, where was the Newhouse family? They weren’t photographed on the carpet this year that I have seen.

-Did anyone catch Mary J. Blige completely disrespecting Stella McCartney and the Met Gala in general? Hopefully she won’t ever be invited again.

-Samira Nasr is there? She does realize she works for Harper’s Bazaar right? Why is she at her rival’s biggest event? How does Hearst allow this? Have they thrown in the towel? I know she has with the depressing presentation she casts from Bazaar’s pages.

-Tyler Perry will probably make a big fuss about not being invited next year. I am surprised Anna even invited him.

-I am also surprised that the Schwarzman’s were invited and came since they are big time Republican donors.

-Even if they aren’t on theme it’s always nice to see actual fashion people there like Hamish Bowles, Lauren Santo Domingo, Amy Fine Collin or the designers. I can’t wait for the days when it becomes a more industry insider event again, and that is coming back eventually.

That’s all.
