Minimalism S/S 06

I didn't think of the proenza schouler brand as minimalism....... those guys can pass anything nowadays..... them, against industrialisation...... look who's talking.... god, those guys have the vogue/anne wintour support team to back them up the whole time..... who are they to say that..... they rely 1000% on those folks from vogue..... the have a sort of semi good taste that translates awfully on to the runway......

those guys if they think they're doing minimalism haven't got A SINGLE clue of what it is.. man they're lost........

anyway, they're just too funny! I can't believe they said that...... ^_^

I love colors, but I love minimalism's clean lines too. ^_^

i like minimalism when it's minimal in price. as in i can't believe that designer white tunic is actually inexpensive! wait, it should be because it's just a white tunic. or with minor embellishments such as in a curious extra pair of sleeves ?? because it's actually a t-shirt/ cardigan/ spring jacket. yea.

now that's modern! ;P

Most of it I adore, but some gives me flashback to late 90's space'ish minimalism crap with "hi-tech fabrics" and stupid pockets and stuff all over the clothes. I used to looove my ankle-length skirt in some stiff polyester-sort of fabric, with a puchy pocket on the front. I paired it with platform shoes, like Buffalo's. Forgive me.

All I'm saying is that feminine, delicate minimalism I love, but weird shapes and fabrics à la late 90's; no thanks.

Some examples of minimalism that I like. Taken from style.com

Little Star, please do not post pics that are not from the season mentionned in the thread title, which says S/S 06, some of your pics are from past seasons like the Chanel one. They will be deleted. Also, please post the DESIGNER's name.

I'm the type of girl who goes out and people say, "do you think you have enough necklaces on?" and i don't feel right if i don't have a belt of some sort. I would like minimalism maybe if it looked more grungy-partied all night-so i just put on this dirty oversized teeshirt as a dress on-and i don't have time to acessorize because i have to go-type thing. I'm really into the United Bamboo pic in post 86.

^ Good point sssanguine.

I personally feel Minimalism has more to do with the way the garment is made..... the plain chicness behind it.... It can still go with a few accessories, but they must be kept to a MINIMAL.... :flower:

Actually, I have to say, minimalism is my fashion philosophy... so this right on par for me.

^ Me too, I never really wear any jewelry... ...and hair/makeup kept to a minimal (only a ponytail will do).... and dark colors, no detailing on my clothes ever.....

It's strange I have become alot more minimalistic lately, block colours, minimal jewellery (I'm totally out of my dangly earrings at the moment and wear diamante/pearl studs) alot of black too, and I've been wearing my wrist length black leather gloves alot lately, with black cardigans etc. I wear them until I start to feel pretensious, :shifty: they always make me feel slightly devious.

I'm loving minimalism right now

Kimkhuu, I'm with you on the jewelry. Rarely do I wear earings or a necklace, even when I'm heading out for the night. It feels crowded. I don't do up my hair too often, curled once in a while when I want a change, and I do wear makeup, but it's often very understated. And I'm a huge fan of the nude lip.

I adore dark colors, but I also have many lighter ones in my closet, as well. It's important for me to have some color, but I think the basic thing for me are clean cuts and shapes. I don't like busy-ness at all.

i very much embrace the minimalist fashion philosophy. i also call it "low-maintenance"

years ago I got a flyer stuck on my windshield that said:

MINIMALISM IT'S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO

I've always wanted to have that on a tshirt
