Miu Miu F/W 07.08 Paris

Hate 95% of it. Everything looks bulky and unflattering, and no new ideas, cuts, just some blah "new" shiny or thin wool materials. :yuk: I much prefer the interesting colours and textures of Prada. Looks like I only need to save for Chalayan and Prada this season.
LoL me too :shock: looks like almost everybody likes this collection, i'm really surprised, although some fabrics and colours i admit are nice. but to compare with Prada i do prefer Prada this season:ninja:

gius, I find myself posting as the contrarian this season for most collections too, :p , I have no idea why....genuinely puzzled. Love the stuff that most hate, eg. Prada, Chloe, and hate the collections that most love, Galliano, Dior, Nina Ricci, MiuMiu, etc. In all, the entire season for me has been a huge disappointment, with the exception of Hussein Chalayan. Good for me I won't be spending heaps of money to update the wardrobe. Maybe my judgement is seriously wrong this time round.

I look great in the color actually.

 Me too! I love browns for my skin tone. How is that pretentious? I also look good in emerald, Lord, I'm SUPER pretentious!

I've become quite fond of HQs in general... especially givenchy ones that show up out of nowhere while looking for Miu Miu. :innocent:

So after seeing the whole collection I can say I don't hate it... Quite a nice collection. Minus the socks, and maybe shoes, I don't get them... The color palette of some pieces is too Prada but I like most of the shapes.

But, where is Miuccia?! I was looking forward to seeing her waving at the end and... :o

Tha colours are deliscious....

like in a sugar & caramel candy store!

im getting the shoes!!!!

but i guess the clothes remind of something that my grandmother used to wear...

I just love this. Probably my favourite so far. Too bad I wouldn't be able to wear it..if only it was suitable for vegetarians *cry cry*

much better than prada... althought I just felt in love with acid colours (yellow and orange) this fall... miumiu red-rose is cool too

Seriously I'm with you!

When everyone starts gushing you assume it's gonna be good...kept on scrolling through expecting the collection to pick up...but then it just ended

I think you need to read the review to understand the collection:

PARIS, March 4, 2007 – This was an intentionally conceptual show, but it started simply enough: The first look out was a camel suit with a slightly nipped waist and rounded hips over a pleated knee-length skirt—its girth perhaps a little exaggerated—worn with knee socks and spectator pumps.

From there, however, the molded shapes turned more pronounced, almost old-ladyish, in fact…. And then came the provocatively sheer, flesh-tone metallic twinsets and skirts… followed by rubbery leather coats in lipstick-pinks and -reds.

Miuccia Prada returned her attention to the natural/synthetic dichotomy that informed her Prada show (and many other designers' this season), with the accent falling heavily this time on the man-made. In reality, those A-line coats were 100 percent real leather, but lined with neoprene to look spongy and fake.

What was her point? "It's a vision of what's happening in the world right now with women," she said after the show. "On videos and TV all of the women look fake. I wanted to show this plasticized vision, but filtered through classic pieces and sticking to tradition."

This translated to jackets and pants cut from a Lurex-shot quilted fabric that looked like nothing so much as your old granny's polyester housecoat (and appeared just as flammable). Cardigans and V-necks were tucked into the top of nude pantyhose, the waistbands of which were exposed above low-slung skirts. Strapless dresses came with deflated, folded-over bra cups, as if to suggest they would only fit correctly if filled with pneumatic silicone breasts.

Despite all the (matron-meets) p*rn-star allusions, this wasn't a sexy collection. And it won't necessarily be easy to wear, either. But in her characteristically thoughtful style, Prada has given everyone plenty to ponder on their long plane ride home.

What a genius concept, and it was executed so well. A lovely collection. I'm not sure if I like it better than Prada, but I do like it a lot.
