Miu Miu F/W 07.08 Paris

Not sure about this collection...

Some of it was just inexcusable and some of it was downright ugly!

Part of me thinks that Miuccia cast this girl in the show, so that she could send subliminal messages via her (scary) eyes, to our brains... (in robot voice) "You. Must. LIKE. this. collection. It. is. chic. It. is. fabulous..."

I really dislike the first part with the camel coloured, mannish jackets and puffy skirts... did you notice how awkward the fabric drapes in these gathers?

I also don't really see this silhouette with the almost petti-coated skirts to be fresh and applicable for daily life. Except from her borrowed-from-the-boyfriend merino knits (the ones she always does anyway), I don't see anything particularly substantial in here.

I think albeit all the fashion-forwardness (which is what Miuccia is getting all the praise for), whatever the fashion trend is, I find that the clothing should make you look good or interesting or sexy (depends on whatever your aim is) ... after all, you don't spend a lot of money for something that is merely meant to be a bad joke.

^^^ lol TRUE.

I really don't like the mix of Swedish p*rn star with 70s brown and boyfriend jackets. These quirks are just plain awkward and unfortunately it just doesn't WORK this time...

I find it rather questionable to see what her stylists always come up with for the show styling... just when you think it can't get any more ridiculous, they will come up with an even more so bad-taste trick, like the knits tucked into the elastic waistband of a pantyhose that pops up from underneath the waistband of a skirt (!!!). This is the sort of stuff, though, that works for editorial shoots... which is why, except from Mrs. Prada's deep advertising pockets, you will probably see this plastered in all magazines come fall.

but than again...runway photos arent always the best source to use when you want to put together an outfit. to me..runway is like an editorial shoot in motion, but even that has become rather generic.
i agree with you on the 'looking good' part, but that's not everyone's goal. i dont see what's wrong with looking awkward, but it is pretty bs when you shed thousands on looking ridiculous

I'm in love with this collection, it's beautiful - one of my favourites this season!

love Anabela's look!

I'll say one thing. No matter how much I dislike the stiff padded suits, as soon as you see one in a fashion spread you know without looking that its a Miu Miu.

^ That seems to be a pattern with Miu Miu. The pieces seem rather simple on the runway, but once you see them in print they become instantly recognizable.

this was interesting to see in person.. similar to the prada show, the fabrics where impressive, which are difficult to see in the images. particularly interesting for me where the "marshmallowy" fabrics in the end of the shoe, kind of sparkly-syntheticy feeling, almost vintage and futuristic at the same time, because of the colors and textures.

Nice palette and shoes. Now that I've said the good part...

Ugly clothes made of innovative fabric are still ugly clothes. Even the models look awkward in them.
