Miu Miu F/W 11.12 : Hailee Steinfeld by Bruce Weber

yeah the only shot i'm liking is the railroad one because it seems so natural.
the rest of this campaign still seems to mature for her

 who is the target market for this season?
it's a cute story, but I am wondering what woman that can afford
Miu Miu is going to be drawn in by Hailee

^Oh hell no. I liked the first shot that was released but this is awful. Is this supposed to be playful and cute or something? It does absolutely nothing for me. She looks even younger than she is in most shots.

too bad the rest of the shots didn't ended up well..look to be forced and she looks forced to be mature woman.

Damp Squib much? She looks like a lamb dressed as mutton.

The collection was a delight, but if they were going for a youthful look, I can think of so many other models who'd have totally rocked the campaign. Kristina Romanova for instance? Or even one of the Prada girls.

i find the shots with the shoes and the pizza to be rather charming

i wonder which ones will land in print

It does look like a little girl playing dressing up but weirdly enough I like it a lot despite the fact that it looks like it's an advertisement for chrilden's wear. It's a very different campaign with a vintage and at the same time playful vibe which definitely catches my attention.I just adore that photo on the railway - perfection. However some of the photos , where Hailee is more serious are so not good they almost look like a joke.Anais Pouliot or Lindsey Wixson would be perfect for that particular concept.

the chair shot is stunning, she looks very mature in it. I also like the railroad one and the first ne that was released but the rest just look like a editorial.

As a fashion story, I'd find it rather sweet, although for me, it does have a slight bit of a Brooke Shields vibe about it, where you take a young teenager and make her dress like she's older, exploiting the unsettling tension which results from that.

I have a feeling I'm getting sold on this totally. Sure, I'm a total Miu bias (plus this collection is really fantastic) and I wasn't much convinced to Hailey modelling for this particular one, but I just help can't lovin' it.

Somehow she makes the whole thing so charming with the innocent, girlish allure. And let me say I just adore those two shots of accessories in the grass. Brilliant. Can't wait to see it in print now.

Love both Miucca and BW but nothing in this campaign makes sense. The clothes in the wrong context, the cast, the age, the angles. Even the little girl dress-up narrative doesnt match with the typical (somewhat lazy) BW setting and idiom. It really feels forced like Miucca wanting to be different. Oh well next season better, bring Sean & Seng!

True.
It totally matches that idea of a little girl playing with her mother's clothes that we talked about when seeing the collection.

I like this but it looks way too much like an editorial. The two railroad shots and the grass shots are the best, but I really can't see the Miu Miu logo under these photos or having these pictures at the stores. Like it's cute and all but I feel like it's kind of cheesy. I still think the first shot is the best! I agree though, Anais Pouliot should've gotten this campaign. Also is it just me or would these clothes look amazing with the set and concept of the Prada campaign?

brilliant....the other side of miu miu that i've never seen in their campaigns before....i love Bruce sfm

I just adore these. Honestly. They are so charming.

And I just love how different these are from any ad campaigns we've seen is the last couple of years. I enjoy what I&V, Meisel and Mert & Marcus do for fashion, but when the majority of ad campaigns are all shot by this small elite group of photographers, the product all starts to feel the same. This is so fresh and I just cannot wait to see it in print!

And in cases like this, I have no issue with the brand using an actress/celebrity. There's a big difference between this and a Harper's Bazaar cover. Furthermore, I don't think the result would have been half as charming as these are if a model like Lindsey Wixson or Anais Puilot had taken Hailee's place.

I like Hailee, but this is nothing special. She looks like a little girl wearing her mother's clothes.

This would've been so much better with a different model, a woman not a little kid.

My thoughts exactly. I would have nothing against to see her in this season's Prada's ads or in the previous Miu Miu's campaigns, but when I am thinking about this collection, I can imagine only a mature woman wearing it.

i really don't think a model could have given it the emotional feel Hailee gave it. she's an actress after all, a quite promising one too at that.

i mean, there's a reason why models fail at acting
