Miu Miu F/W 2024.25 Paris

I guess now we have the confirmation that the issue is really Raf.
Because the dumb clothes we had at Prada still have me angry.

I think the collection needed a lot of editing. There are very beautiful, timeless and desirable clothes and in the middle, eyebrows-raising propositions (the looks on Mica and Rianne).
For me it was about a dialogue between bourgeoisie and working-class a bit, or classicism and utilitarian.

I love that popelin cotton was the fabric of choice here. The shirt dresses were good, so were the « furs ».
I love Gigi and Hilary Rhoda’s looks. I would wear them with some derby shoes on day and some killer Saint Laurent or Francesco Russo heels at night!
A lot of pieces are good and the logo is not obnoxious.

Lotta was maybe too confused in her styling and the casting was a bit weird to me.

Nevertheless, good show!
Too bad the dialogue with the working class ends when you see miu miu prices lol. $3k-$10k for most things on the website

Its not bad, considering it’s MiuMiu. But its nothing revolutionary or memorable. Its amazing how many bad collections we’ve seen so when something done just correct as this, it gets way too much praise.. way more than it really deserves.
Should have been edited down… And Lotta styling is tired. But Raf is ruining Prada lol… that’s a fact based in this.

i've always been just a casual observer of prada and miu miu, don't have much strong feelings about both but from a 3rd party perspective this looks and feels more prada than prada although i'm not educated enough about both to know why.

i like the propositions even though they might not be realistic. those neon-ish coloured looks work together with the collection even though they aren't supposed to, then you have a kookiness from some looks that feel fresh, then suddenly there's a killer black dress that i really like - 3rd last look.

it's a mish-mash of a collection with a confidence that i find quite appealing - like different facets of a womans personality - like 'i want to be cute today in a grandma-sy way that's still cool // i got this nice grey tasteful turtleneck but i want to wear it with this big poufy neon skirt! // today i'm wanna dress sexy.'

this collection feels pretty instinctual to me, i also want miuccias brown skirt.

this is more grownup and ladylike than Miu Miu has been this decade so far (AW23 included), interesting that it's in tandem with Prada taking on the more usual girly style of Miu Miu this season. Love the cropped leather jackets, the bright tights (flashbacks to late 00s Facehunter days here) and the sheath dresses and Gigi/Hilary's looks, do not like the weird fluoro blue at all it's so jarring. Don't like the bright puffy skirts either. Also if you're going to sprinkle non-models in a show they need to be styled properly, I appreciate seeing KST for Miu Miu but some of this felt very gimmicky.

Funny how this feels more Prada than Prada. Great collection, great styling, one of my favorites this season

Wow, Hillary Rhoda. WO MAN. Amazing.

Fantastic collection, hated the blue section, loved the rest. Gutwrenching to see Miucca's output without Raf. This is Prada! Begging the gods for a full uomo collection.

The menswear were a stand out of the collection, a few of the womenswear felt so stuffy(?) and the oversized gloves just made it worse by adding more to the clutter. The simpler and somber looks are beautiful though.

it’s giving Prada.

I liked the Summer skirts and some of the dresses (the pale blue one and the black ones at the end).

the shoes were mostly horrid apart from the boots I guess but had nothing to do with the clothes…

the styling was horrible.

however, what an amazing surprise to see Vittoria back at Miu Miu and another favourite of mine, Hilary Rhoda! please, let this be her comeback!!

I don't know, I find a lot of this to look really costumey. Sure there are a lot of great pieces from this you can take away and work well with, but something about this feels like a strange audition for the costume role for the next Wes Anderson film or something.

The casting choices also lose me a little bit. I don't like how obvious they made the "unconventional" choices look. Makes it look like some pantomime level of mockery but no one is on the joke so they're just silently laughing at them.

Lotta's kind of turning into another Katie Grand here. So much of this reminds me of when she was styling the shows a few years ago when Miu Miu had this forced eclecticism being shoved down our throats.

Tired of the dated "bourgeoisie" looks mixed with some streetwear (to make contrast; so it does not look as dusty and posh)...
Basic clothes with some random gimmicks here and there. Nothing relevant, the same old. You can tell she used actresses for walking the rags, because otherwise the collection would have been ignored by media.

I don't understand the fixatiion on "stylists". Doesn't the designer have a total look in his or her mind when designing the clothes? When you look at designers' sketches, everything is already there. What is the stylist for?
For me the stylist's job should be limited to magazines if the total look is not imposed on the publication and they have to mix and match brands.

Who the heck is the MiuMiu woman?

After comparing this and last season she must suffer from Fashion Shizophrenia or Disturbia.
This summer she wants to be a nerdy surfergirl and in winter she loves to have breakfast at Tiffany's.

Anyway... too much nostalgia involved for my taste.
I am also VERY tired of the styling gimmicks here It was fresh last season, but if i see one shirt collar sticking out and the other one tucked into a sweater again.... i dunno.
