Miu Miu S/S 2015 : Imogen Poots, Marine Vacth & Mia Goth by Steven Meisel

Marine! :buzz: She's quite an unexpected choice for Miu Miu though, she tends to wear other designers more frequently (Christophe Lemaire/Chanel/etc). Looking forward to seeing more.

I like it so far... Only wish Miuccia had stuck with models after the Resort campaign.

SCREEN GRABS: Miu Miu continues its love affair with the silver screen in its spring advertising campaign, for which the label has enlisted rising stars Mia Goth, Imogen Poots and Marine Vacth for a series of moody images shot by Steven Meisel.

The actresses were shot in cinematic settings that evoked a series of rooms, with sets featuring vintage wallpaper, dark-wood furniture and an unmade bed designed to create a feeling of dramatic tension. Hair is by Guido Palau and makeup by Pat McGrath.

The campaign is set to break in February issues, beginning with the U.K. edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

Poots attended Miu Miu’s spring 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week, while Goth, who is dating Shia LaBeouf, has been spotted at several Louis Vuitton events in recent months. Vacth also appears in a campaign for jeweler Chaumet.

Cinematic storytelling and the interconnected narratives of three fearless and beautiful actresses empowers Steven Meisel’s latest campaign for Miu Miu.

Staring Mia Goth, Imogen Poots and Marine Vacth in a series of cinematic tableaux, the images, glimpsed as if through doorways, place the viewer at the heart of a multi-dimensional, multi-room story.

Youthful Mia Goth is playfully perched on crisp white bed sheets, locking eyes with the viewer she beckons us toward her. Seductive Imogen Poots radiates a rebellious attitude, golden light from a window cascading mysterious shadows across her confident face. Elegant Marine Vacth, one of France’s most striking acting talents, is contemplative and serene in a drawing room wearing a dusk-rose coat, the bag placed at her feet leaving us unsure if she is arriving or leaving the scene.

These cinematic tableaux are filled with a sense of tension, an entwined narrative on the edge of dénouement, as we view these women’s stories and the collection through a series of captivating, interrupted moments.

The sets details – antique wallpapers, dark wood furniture, an unmade bed – create a sense of home. They call to mind the clash of historical and innovative fabrics and re-imagined icons of the collection: the housecoat, the cardigan, the tube skirt, pajama suits and ruffled blouses slashed to the mid-drift. Bowed mules, large platforms, glitter-framed glasses and supple leather bags complete the story.

Each scene is a chance encounter, independent but linked, dramatically connecting the characters’ stories. Each actress plays a role, and looking in on them, we see the collection as the narrative force of the story, and the true power of fashion as a communicator of fresh ideas and ideologies.

IS it bad but i seems a bit nervy/stalkery/sex slave-ish......Like these girls are ladies of the night and the cameraman is their next customer....

^ that's the point I think, the collection is quite wh*re-ish.

I love the images! The girls look really beautiful. I still wish they would go for models, even if Miu Miu usually gets it right with celebs.

What a cast and what a great campaign ! It perfectly captures thre essence of the collection. I love how all three of the girls shine equally in their shots and they really seem to be part of the same story though with their own atmosphere and backstory. I love it.

I have to say Mia Goth kills it! even though I'd rather models ALL the time. I love how the collection has translated into the campaign, the feeling of something sinister going on. love it.

I don't really get those comments about "using models" (before the full cast was announced) since Marine used to be a model, and has had more modelling jobs than acting jobs.

Also I really like the campaign overall, love the cast, I prefer the shots where the girls aren't looking into the camera, it enhances the voyeur feel of the campaign. I'm not sure if "ladies of the night" is what I'm getting, but it's definitely very peeping tom.

Wow...reminds me of the Miu Miu of about 9 years ago...not really into the plasticiny quality of the girls' skin but I adore the perspective of the shots and the composition.
