Oh, we'll see about that, but consider that after London, New York is the fashion week where Piergiorgio has less influence (if I remember correctly he only has Michael Kors and Khaite)

NY is such a flop for shows this season yeah so probably no one good will show until Milano.

But that reminds me of Addison Soens who had such a stellar break out season, Milano and Paris, then flopped the next season.

Given Proenza isn't any longer on the schedule until further notice, it's more difficult than ever for American faces - or new faces based in NY in general - to establish a presence in the city. The few people we might see again this season are Marc's newcomers. IMO, PG should go back to bringing in new faces at Khaite.

The completely new or unknown faces who do MJ are almost never able to spin that into success elsewhere, either on other runways or campaigns, covers, etc. It's like landing a Celine campaign, it's the high point of an otherwise meh career.

Hejia and Luiza were the last two who made success from an NYC debut. Stella Hanan last season but I don’t think she took off as much as those two. Betsy Gaghan started het break through in NYC too, so it’s possible. Just not as likely I suppose.

But even a good Europe debut doesn’t mean anything. Look at Addison Soens like I mentioned before. What happened to her?

MK doesn’t debut new faces, and they typically aren’t at Tory either. Khaite’s the most favorable choice in the calendar, if they’re looking for new faces 🥲 I wouldn’t bet on Coach to produce the most memorable careers, that’s for sure, but can assume Brokaw’s American debuts will go there (I would surely hope debuts come back to Tory one day as well, though).

I agree from a general perspective, but again feel the loss of Proenza, which otherwise was where the first wave of promising new faces in the season landed, might - might - tip the scales slightly in favor of the Marc debuts this season, if/assuming more industry eyes are watching. Hannah in particular is already backed well enough to do a full season as is.

It's true but in the absence of anything else I thought those were the only possibilities. But now I'm also thinking about Calvin Klein, who will do the casting?

If Ashley Brokaw does it, we'll have our answer about NYFW debuts, if Piergiorgio Del Moro does it I'm not so sure. (And I had neglected Julia Lange)
