Model skin & body care tips / products

Where do you get your HR, love? :flower: They I believe have pulled out completely (someone knows wiser with evidence correct me if I'm wrong here) from several countries and one being the U.S. and Switzerland.

What happened? She had a big spa in Soho in NYC in the late 90's, I remember its opening being widely written about in US Vogue and Harper's Bazaar then.

Anyway, Where do you get your damn Helena Rubinstein?:hardhead: :winkiss:And have you tried any of the skincare?

^Theyre a few shops in Austria and of course Germany (Douglas) where you can get HR (I can give you the adresses if you want) but they indeedpulled out from Switzerland.
Oh and Ive just checked, you can get a few products at beautynet.de as well, they also ship to Austria. Sont know whether they have what youre looking for tho :flower:

Well I live in Switzerland but can take the train to Germany, so any addresses would actually be great, I like a train trip, but they must have not been making much money?

^Ah sorry I ment Switzerland, beautynet.de does ship to Switzerland
In Germany, you can get HR in any Douglas shop, which is in nearly every larger city.

Helana Rubinstein is EVERYWHERE in Denmark. Matas (kinda like Douglas - we have at least three in even the smallest towns), Magasin, Salling, Douglas...it's everywhere  Haven't tried the skincare but the mascaras are the best ever.

Natasha Poly
Fashion Week Hair Saver:
“I’m just buying all the stuff I can find—I use a conditioning mask almost every day. I had my natural hair color for seven seasons before going blond. I’ve noticed that it’s a lot harder to take care of my hair now, having blond hair.”

Fresh-Faced Secret:
“I use all different things, but right now I like Sisley Paris All-Day All-Year Cream. I carry it around in my purse. It’s a really good moisturizer. At nighttime I use their serum. It really brings out the best in your skin.”

Magdalena Frackowiak

Fresh-Faced Secret: “You know, recently I’ve switched from one cream to another. I used to use a Kanebo moisturizer but I’ve started going for more organic creams. I also take vitamins because I think when you take care of yourself on the inside it makes a big difference in your skin.

Party Must-Have: “I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup because I tend to like a natural look. But I love a good foundation to make my skin look really healthy and shiny, and a little bit of mascara to make my eyes pop. I also like red lips a lot. I like Chanel Rouge. But it really depends what kind of party it is and what I’m wearing.

Charlotte di Calypso
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “My hair gets really dry because of all the products on it so I use a lot of conditioner. I don’t like shampooing every day but during Fashion Week I need to because there’s so much stuff in my hair.”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “Usually I use a French cream called La-Roche Posay. I think it’s very good because it helps the skin to breathe.”

Party Must-Have: “I’m so bad with makeup so the only thing I put on is mascara, to make my eyes look bigger. But during the winter sometimes I’ll wear blush too.”

Nika Lauraitis
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I use a lot of conditioner. Everyone seems to be teasing the hair and what really helps get out the knots is Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner.”

Fresh-Faced Secret:
“I use a Neutrogena facial bar to get everything off—in addition to being a cleanser, I find it works really well as a makeup remover. For lotion I use one by Garnier Nutritioniste. It has sunscreen in it too.”

Rachel Rutt

Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I use Head & Shoulders shampoo. That’s all I use! If my hair’s really knotted I’ll use some conditioner and try to get the tangles out. But generally I’m a bit lazy so I just use shampoo. I let my hair air-dry.”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use this two dollar emu cream from Woolworth’s! And I also just got this new cream from
Clarins. It’s day cream and it’s really amazing. My friend recommended it to me.”

Party Must-Have: “I like red lipstick. I have this really cool
Chanel one. It’s the only thing I can afford from there but I love it. It’s dark red.”

Tao Okamoto
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I like the smell of the Aveda products. I don’t put anything on my hair during the day, but I’ll use a conditioner at night.”
Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use everything—face wash, skin toner, and cream. All of it.”

Party Must-Have: “I just wear black eye liner and mascara. That’s all. I only use eye liner on my upper lid, but I’ll wear a lot of mascara on my lower lashes.”

Bruna Tenorio
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “During Fashion Week we do two or three shows a day so we really need to be careful with our hair. If we wash our hair every day it’s not good so I wash every other day. I don’t think there are many secrets for the hair—but for the face, yes!”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “We have to keep our faces clean as much as we can because we wear so much makeup during the day. I wash my face really well and put on a cream before I go to sleep. I use Shiseido cleanser and moisturizer.

Cailin Hill

Fashion Week Hair Saver: “The thing that I have to have is Fekkai's hair mask. I used it almost every day. It’s like a deep conditioner.”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “Right now I’m using a product by Lush called Angels on Bare Skin—it’s like a cleansing exfoliator—and for moisturizer I use a face oil. I don’t know what kind it is off-hand.”

^Let's hope Elle does an interview with her. I'm curious too.

Lily Donaldson
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I use conditioner, but I’m not very loyal to my conditioner. I don’t really have a favorite.”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use Simple wipes to remove my makeup and Chanel cleanser. Sometimes I’ll moisturize and sometimes I won’t because you get so much moisturizer put on your face during the shows.”

Isabeli Fontana
Fashion Week Hair Saver:“What I really like is the Kérastase Voile Nuit. It’s an overnight leave-in conditioner and it’s amazing. It really works. I use it every night during Fashion Week because all the hairspray dries your hair out. It makes your hair look like a broom. You pull it, and pieces come out. It’s really, really bad.”

Fresh-Faced Secret:
“I always make sure I mist a mineral water spray after a shower because ordinary water can be very dirty for your face. My type of skin is mixed so I like to use Biotherm Aquasource. Every morning I use the SPF 15.

Party Must-Have:
“I always like wearing La Praire makeup base. I think it’s the best foundation for your skin. And I always wear Maybelline mascara for thick eyelashes. I’ve been trying a few of them. The product I’m using now is the waterproof Define-a-Lash—it has a great brush. And on my lips I’ll wear cherry-colored Bobbi Brown lip balm.”

Kerastase has amazing reviews on MUA, but it is quite pricey. I'm definitely trying it out soon though. As for the Biotherm Aquasource series, I have no idea why Isabeli likes it :P I've been using it for 4 months... It hasn't made any improvements in my skins, switched to another brand (Laneige) and within a few days my skin was glowing. To each her own I guess!

^You can buy Kerastase cheap online if you're in Europe - check out hqhair.com :flower:

And the Define-A-Lash mascara is actually pretty great!

Karlie Kloss
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “There’s this one really good conditioner that I use called Nexxus Humectress. It’s a simple conditioner but for some reason it works perfectly on my hair and I love it.”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use a lotion called Embryolisse. It’s just a really good light cream—not too oily and not too thick. I don’t have a cleanser right now. I’m super low on my supplies! I need to go shopping.”

Party Must-Have: “I just got my first bottle of Lola, with the gorgeous lid. I also have this travel-sized guy of it which I’ll carry around in my purse. I never leave the house without a little bit of Lola!”

Amanda Laine
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “Actually, when I’m here I just use cheap shampoo. When I go home, I use my mom’s Pantene Pro-V Moisture Replenishing Mask—my hair’s always pretty dried out by then. But when I’m here, I just use regular conditioner and shampoo because I know my hair will only get wrecked again the next day!”

Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use Clinique cleanser, toner, and face cream. I always have. A lot of people use Kiehl’s but my face has stayed fine with Clinique so I’ve just stuck with it. I also drink a lot of water—that’s key. I drink two big bottles a day. I’ll have the occasional frappuccino from Starbucks but I don’t really drink coffee.”

Party Must-Have: “I usually don’t go out to Fashion Week parties because my parents are always with me! This season is my first time being alone, but I’ve been so busy I don’t really get to go out—I was at Marc Jacobs until three in the morning doing the hair and makeup tests! When I go out with my friends back home though, I use Dior Addict 2 as my perfume and I love the NARS multi-purpose stick. I use it on my eyes, lips, and cheeks. I have the really pale pink shade.”

Ekaterina Kiseleva
Skin Secret
For her frequent transatlantic trips, the Siberian model sticks with Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer: “It keeps my face hydrated and protected from the sun.”
Locks Star
For lustrous locks, Kiseleva turns to Fekkai Glossing Conditioner: “After the wear and tear of the show season, this is a must.”
Personal Favorite
Even on nights out with girl friends, Kiseleva keeps her makeup simple: “I’ll just put on a little mascara and Philosophy’s Kiss Me lip balm.”
The Season’s Best
For “fresh and sexy” eyes, Kiseleva brushes Revlon 3D Extreme Mascara on her lashes.

Sessilee Lopez
Skin Secret
The Philly native relies on model-favorite Embryolisse to keep her skin soft. “The Lait Crème Concentrate is rich but not greasy,” she says.
Locks Star
Lopez prefers L’Oréal Elnett: “This is the best option to keep your hair in place that doesn’t make it really hard,” she says.
Personal Favorite
Lopez likes to brush up her complexion with Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, which she says “adds a bit more depth.”
The Season’s Best
Lopez says she loves the way M.A.C No. 30 False Eyelashes accentuate her peepers.

Lakshmi Menon
Glow Getter
"I swear by "Mon Soin du Visage," says the Bangalore model, who especially loves the French brand's Cold Oil Yuzu cleanser. "It leaves my skin glowing."
Locks Star
Menon's mother knows best: "She taught me to use organic coconut oil as a treatment. It makes my hair feel luxurious," Menon says.
Personal Favorite
"There's nothing like kohl liner for strong and sexy eyes," says Menon, who uses Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Onyx when off duty.

Hyoni Kang
Skin Secret
Kang comforts her dry skin with Biotherm Aquasource SuperSerum. “A friend recommended it to me—now my face looks so much healthier and moisturized,” says the South Korean stunner.
Personal Favorite
A sucker for anything pink, Kang stores Dior Addict Lip Gloss Reflect in Pink Liberty in her purse at all times. “It instantly brightens my face and makes me look more cheerful,” she says.
Locks Star
“Everything I use is Kérastase,” says Kang, who takes the brand’s Lumiere Nutri-Sculpt serum with her wherever she goes. “My hair gets so dull after the shows, and this makes it so much shinier.”
The Season's Best
“I loved the bold brows at DKNY. They made my face look so contoured,” says Kang, who’s a fan of M.A.C (try their Eye Brows pencil to fill in sparse arches).

Jessica Stam
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I like René Furterer hair masks and conditioners.”
Fresh-Faced Secret: “I’ve been getting oxygen facials. There’s this woman who comes to my place to do them.”
Party Must-Have: “There’s a CoverGirl lip stain that I love. I don’t remember what the shade is called but it’s pink. And then Maybelline has these eye shadow sticks that I also like—I wear a shimmering white one. Perfume-wise, I like Ricci Ricci by Nina Ricci.”

Coco Rocha
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I use whatever product they give me! I work with Louis Licari so he gives me some nice products for colored hair. He has his own shampoo and conditioner. My hair is newly black so I use it.”
Fresh-Faced Secret: “I don’t know. I’ve been using Lancôme Hydra Zen Cream for a little while now. In the winter I’ll wear heavier creams and in the summer I’ll wear lighter ones. Lancôme’s is really light and not too thick.”
Party Must-Have: “I must have dark eyes, contour, and light lips! Right now, I’ve been using this new eye liner from Dior.”

hmm, Lakshmi really has some gorgeous looking skin! I'll have to do some research on her skin care products :glare:

I wouldn't listen to what most of the models say, they are paid to promote the products they advertise.

I don't think so. Well yes, sometimes they are, but these interviews were made backstage. They won't end up in any magazine but clearly Karlie said she uses Lola because she was in MJ ad campaign for that perfume. Also with Jessica Stam and Nina Ricci.

I think Daria and Rhoda are the least reliable... Daria with her Lancôme contract, and Rhoda with hers @ Estee Lauder

Every model has some kind of contract to honour. It's important to keep their contract by promoting the product to any source...does anyone believe Beyonce's fave fragrance is Armandi Diamonds? Come on...
