Model skin & body care tips / products

^Well, surely not every model... And there seem to be some sort of consensus on certain products. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre, Bioderma Sensibio H20 cleanser, Kerastase (the Nutritive line), Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream etc.

Karlie, go get a cleanser! :yuk: She only moisturizes? Heavy buildup of dead skin cells occurs when you dont cleanse and all you do is slap on some cream.

I love Isabeli's choices because I love La Prairie, when I used to use a little makeup on my face I would buy the La Prairie foundation. But Biologique-Recherche's L'Eauxygenante Facial Mist is much better than Biotherm.

I need to know what Snejana is using. Her skin is FLAWLESS.
I remember her once saying she uses Cle De Peau Beaute La Creme for when she's flying. Maybe it was also something she had to say because she probably had the contract with them when she said it, but I've used that cream and your skin DOES look flawless upon waking. I only use it at night.

^I don't want to hear that! I want to hear that se uses some cheap and unknown but brilliant product, and I DO NOT want to hear a word about her having perfect poreless skin because of good genes :judge:

Model Hot Seat: Regina Feoktistova

Spotted at: Michael Kors
Birthplace: Russia
Age: 19
Fashion Week Hair Saver: “I use shampoo and conditioner and a different leave-in spray every time—I have a lot of stuff! My hair gets really damaged during Fashion Week. When it’s all over I have to cut it two or three inches.”
Fresh-Faced Secret: “I use Shiseido’s face wash and moisturizer—I don’t remember the names of them—and I also use a Dior eye cream.”

^That sounds a lot more convincing. I'm sure models are far too busy to remember the full names of the products they use! :D Skincare product names are pretty darn complex

being 19, all you need is a good moisturiser and your skin looks amazing and fresh!

it has been interesting to read through this thread
there are SO MANY skincare products to choose from it is totally overwhelming. and sometimes you really need to try a product out for a month or so until you really can tell if it is right for you.

im going to look up Dr Hauschka rose day cream! hopefully it is not too strongly scented...

There's also a Rose Day Cream Light.
Rose Day Cream Light is a great new way to enjoy an old favorite. Precious rose ingredients protect and nurture dry and sensitive skin in a light formulation ideal for warmer weather.

I tried Dr Hauschka's Rose Day Cream (one of my friends has it) - the smell is really nice and it works really well on her, but I thought it was a bit much for my skin. I think it's best when your skin is very dry :flower:

I've been using for just about a month now the Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Creme to exfoliate, just once or twice a week, and today my face felt like it was burning when I rinsed it off, so its not for all sensitive skin unfortunately, at least this product wasnt. I would give the moisturizers a try because I do have dry skin, but I'd still start out with the 'light' for me.

^LetThemEatCake, I tried to PM you, but your inbox is full...

who is that in your avatar? :flower:

I wouldn't listen to what most of the models say, they are paid to promote the products they advertise.

THANK YOU. I know that across the board generalizations are impossible but this is usually the case.
Doesn't anyone find it suspect that none of these models ever say anything like Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer even though highly trained dermatologists recommend that stuff and people use it with amazing results? It's never a low end product. It's always Chanel and Dior and this and that.
I payed an exorbitant amount of money to go to a celebrated skin specialist only to have her tell me that the way your skin looks is always going to depend upon a ratio of age, genes, life style and nutrition.
Most models are purists when it comes to food. It's safe to assume they don't consume junk, and have diets low in sugars, fats and processed foods. Plus they drink tons of water.
Also, I expected that she was going to recommend me some high end creams and pills but she rolled her eyes and said to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water and green tea, to cut out junk and to use sun screen every day. Also, she took me off of Biotherm and recommended plain old cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer.
Honestly, my skin has never looked better. It's baby skin clear and dewy.

So before rushing out to invest in what models claim to wear maybe just make some lifestyle changes and see what happens. :flower:

^ Well said :flower:

Although I do suspect that while promoting products plays a big role in what they say they use, many may also say Dior, Chanel etc because they probably get tons of free samples and goodie bags, and they must use the creams/cleansers/serums/etc that they get. Occasionally you get answers that ring true - Gemma once said she used Smith's Rosebud Salve lipbalm (which is a cheap but very good product) and Elise Crombez said La Roche Posay products which aren't very expensive and work really well IMO :flower:

^Those seem a lot more realistic (by just listing the brand names) because I don't think the models would remember the products they use name by name!

I just love this thread. I'm the worst when it comes to skin care (horrible diet), but this thread inspires me to be better.

I wish I could find Embryolisse and buy it, it sounds worth trying

I have it, it is absolutely lovely! It should be available in London. If not, try pharmadiscount.com - if your French isn't the best, use google translate  Worked for me! You can also get the Bioderma cleanser, a lot of people are fond of it. I think it's brilliant.

^Love the bioderma cleanser. Too bad I never get to use it anymore
