OKay... So last weekend I went to an open call for a modeling conference and it is with Proscout.com.. I was selected out of a bunch of people to an invatational.. What I really need to know is this for real or is this a Scam. What they say they will do is bring 50 of the top agencies from all over the world and I will get to meet each one of them... Please give me some feed back and be honest!!!!

How much money are they asking you to pay up front and I'll tell you if it's a scam or not?

Okay well only like 20 of like 60 people got in and got these booklets which are basically the invatations... it costs 645 but they said the fees are to fly all these agents in from all over the world and their stay at the resort. which makes sense but i just dont know how many people really do become successful out of this thing.. they gave us a list of the agencys and they were everyone who you have ever heard of thats HUGE.. so i dont know i just dont wanna waste that kind of money to have it be a Scam.. he also said that there is no guarentee which that comes with anything so that is a given but ij ust dont want to loose out on that much money!!

Send your pictures to an agency or two for the price of the postage. I do know of a few girls that have been " discovered" at modeling conventions. (but the chances are few and far between.) Good luck in whatever you decide to do.:flower:

Amanda Moore was discovered at a convention, she thought it was a scam so she refused to pay the fee. They wanted her to come so badly that they paid the fee for her.

There are real agents who attend these things, but they're looking for girls who are READY TO TRAVEL. Not ones that need development.

I didn't know this detail. Smart girl! :D

hey girl ,sup i myself went to the same thing in (miltown) milwalkee wi. i too was choosen
to go to the invite. and i can't wait to go; if this was a scam then they would take any
1 that would go. i myself was one dude of 5 that was picked they turned away about forty guys and 60 girls. you must be cute . cause the girls that were left were very beautiful, hope you go, good luck, some people think that if you pay than it is a scam;
oh well, their some who fail to try !!!!!

you should not have to pay anything ever. if top agencies are really going, and interested in real talent, they will 'foot' the bill. mail photographs, measurments, and a cover letter, and they will fly you out. scouts honour!

I would never pay anything. The initial fee for some of these conventions is just the beginning....next you will have to pay for photo sessions/photos. Why would you pay all of that money when you can send polariods directly to the agencies? If they like your polaroids - they will call you, believe me. The best part is that you will not have to pay tons of money for the agencies to see your face. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but why not save your money and send photos directly.

^That's true, just send your photos by email, it's easy and doesn't cost anything and they'll reply to you.

Send in your photos to agencies in New York, or wherever youre interested in working via the post or my e-mail. If they are interested, they'll call you in, if not, you wont have spent $645.. Good luck with whatever you decide :flower:

Where doyou get the addresses to these agencies? I didnt think they gave you the time of day if your mother agency didnt send it to them...

Try the links at the top of the page. :flower: If you're good, they won't care.

And can I only say that Amanda Moore's just too cool?

I have decided not to go to the Proscout Convention, its too much money and there is no guarentee.. Thank you all so much for your advice, But, I have more questions, If I have a Modeling Resume with my pictures on it , would it be worth Faxing it to agencies? Do they really look at them? Or is there a better way to get my self out there.I am 5'4 would they even condsider me? Im really looking for some honest answers. And Do you know Who to send Your information to for film.. such as auditions for movies, commercials Etc..? Where would I get the addresses, and what are the big companies that I would want to send them too.. I want to know how to get my self out there.

Thank you so much :D

I think sending your pics in email form would be a better idea because faxes dont show up clearly. The usual minimum is at least 5"8 so i think you would have trouble getting signed at 5"4. You made a good decision not paying the money.
