Models Supporting Causes

Agree. Haiti is a humanitarian effort that Karlie is helping to raise money for. This isn't a political issue so I don't see any validity in your argument.

Yea honestly if its a cause your interested in speak out! Please don't speak out for causes just because its controversial. I absolutely applaud Karlie for spreading awareness about the disaster in Haiti. We aren't all controversial people who are looking for a 'different' cause to support.

Stop being so banal. She does not have to speak about POLITICAL issues in order to discuss the tragedy in Haiti, which is a humanitarian issue. There is no conservative or liberal bias here - just the issue of human safety and welfare. As a person who is alive and additionally privileged, as we all are, she feels she can help - and she can. Your attitude is damaging, honestly. This is about awareness, not "politics."

Exactly, she doesn't need to be politician or celebrity to help, any people in the world can do it.. we should clap Karlie for being a role model for other people and we should follow her example

i don't want karlie to stand up for something controversial... and is not like she has the personality to go out and say... "I'M STANDING UP FOR THE ******'S!" even if she does like them... and i'm glad she 's helping out the MOST POOR NATION ON EASTERN SIDE OF THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! gosh...

There is no denying Haiti is good cause to support for anyone at this moment ( actually, at any moment). But sometimes celebs make charity just for the good publicity and selfish reasons. I hate when one of them gives x amount of $$$ for charity and then he/she is all over the news and papers about it. It`s too obvious.

But I`d like to believe this is not Karlie`s case. I´m not familiar about her project, but she`s not one hot celeb from a tabloid cover and doesn`t appear as fame seeking person to me.

^I agree. The nature of the blog doesn't seem like a grand money scheme. It looks like a blog set up to try to make an effort at raising awareness.

I think we should also keep in mind that Karlie's just a 17-year old girl, albeit a successful model. She's reaching out to the community, and that's great, but she's also doing it in the way that is expected from a non-politics-involving (at least not until she turns 18) youth. Therefore, we should not overly criticize her for her act of kindness and remind ourselves that despite the model status, she's just a girl trying to make a difference.
