Models Who Aren't That Tall

I wonder about the correaltion between height and shoe size. Like, some people think they go hand and hand but others (take Gisele for example) will say that's not true seeing as how she wears a size 6 shoe. I'm close to/about 5'7 with a size 11 shoe. You guys think I'll grow any?

notice that the shorter models (under 5'7")who are the most visible/popular are mostly the "celeb" models...lauren bush, lydia hearst, etc...being related to celebs kind of gives you extra points in the height category, no...a lot of these models wouldnt have made it on tyheir looks alone if it werent for their pedigree...liz jagger specially

and yes, alot of the models listed as 5'11 are usually over 6' which is a bit frightening...there are way more six footers in modeling (women) than ever before, it's quite scary and surreal...

This might have been posted already but... look at Hana in comparison to Inguna, and then Eugenia and Marija as well, in these backstage pics from Paco Rabanne? They're all wearing heels, and while the heel heights can differ, I can't imagine they're different any more than an inch or so...I mean, I always knew she was tall but I didn't know she was so tall...

Hana: 5'11" but the general belief is almost 6'1"
Inguna's height: 5'9"
Marija's height: 5'10"
Eugenia's height: 5'10.5"

Are Inguna, Marija, Eugenia shorter than they say so, or is Hana taller than she says so?

Hmmm, Mona looks shorter than 5'6.5 most of the time imo...here she is next to Shannan who always gets listed at 5'8 so she is probably that height max.:

She really looks like 5'5/5'5.5 to me...
And the difference between her and Vlada in that picture is pretty much the same as that between her and Shannan (hmm, I know this sounds a bit confusing ), so I would say Vlada is about 5'9.

when I met Mona on the subway going to a casting she told me she was 5'6.5 when she asked me how tall I was(5'7''), so she was only a tad shorter than me so i dunno? Plus it all depends on heels so maybe thats why Shannon looks alot taller?

Hmmm I think that there are plenty of models who don't fit into the 5'9"-5'11" frame but I think those who are way out by two inches or so are only allowed in because they have exceptional bodies or faces. If you're outside the height guidelines but you have an amazing face, the agency isn't going to turn you down.

I don't think my face is particularly great (structure-wiseinnocent: , but when I apply to agencies I tell the truth that I'm 6'0.5" and I've never been told that I'm too tall. I've had a few rejections that just say my look isn't right for them, and I've had interest from a few agencies too. But no one has ever mentioned that I'm over an inch over 5'11".

All the agencies lie... Michelle Buswell said herself on Fashion File that she's about 6'2" and she's listed by Marilyn's as being 6'.

Jade Parfitt always seemed to me as being taller than 6' , I've always thought that Lizzie Jagger was 5'10 or 5'11 or at least around the same height as her mother but in this picture she looks quite short.
Personally , I was always way shorter than anyone else my age . I'm 4'8 (yes I know it's extremely short) , and it's always been my complex , especially since no one in my family is a short as I am . And hell I'm always sick of the fact that I look much younger than my age and that people find it cute , I just feel so 'abnormal' (not the right term , I know).

6 foot tall models usually look good on the runway but in "real life"...yikes! giraffe alert.

i remember watching an interview with claudia schiffer - on some sort of late night show thing - and gawd, she looked so tall and awkward..especially compared to the (relatively tall) MALE host. she had to crouch in order to smooch him on the cheek.

In post #189 Sienna loooks a whole lot shorter than Lily, which is funny- Lily is 5'10 and Sienna is widly called 5'6, so there shouldn't be THAT much of a difference. Maybe Lily is in higher heels?

And as someone mentioned before, 6'+ models tend to look a bit akward off the runway. Erin O'Conner looks beautiful in that pic, but she is sooo giant!

moss was turned down immediately and didn't hit it big till 18. although everyone agreed she had an amazing face, her body wasn't right for the look for quite some time.
so it does happen even if you do have a great asset.

it's weird why fashion is so picky when there isn't much diversity in it at all, among the clothes or models or mags. it's like what are they so picky for?

Wow, great thread but too long for me to read through! Dunno if its been cleared up yet but Lily Donaldson is defo no shorter than 5 7 if someone was saying that. she used to go to my school.

and either i'm a tall 5 5 or kate moss is a short 5 6 because she wasn't very much taller than me when i saw her backstage at glastonbury.
