Heres a question..who is this girl and why is she shorter than Irina?


Sometimes I feel like Irina really is about 5'9".

and I guess this girl, Cristina Tosio, is listed as 5'9" (175) and Irina is listed as 5'9.5" (177). Someone is lying

Shes kind of bending her knees and thats Kasia Struss. Shes listed at 5'10.5" (179cm)
Irina is about 6' (183cm)

Aww... That's so sad! In that case I wonder how Devon Aoki ever made it... She looks shorter than 5'4.

It is sad indeed, because I think it's usually the shorter girls who have the strongest and most beautiful faces (well, they kinda have to, so that they can actually "compete" with the taller girls) because the ones who are 180 or even above that, usually don't even strike me as modelesque looking - simply their height that makes them stand out (though, of course, there are also some "model giants" who are absolutely pretty)

^That is so true. Of course there are a few exceptions, but the 180+ models just don't stand out!

So is 175 - 179 considered "normal" for supermodels?

Do you ever think their heights are a bit... exaggerated though? I kind of think the agencies add on a few centimeters in their reports just for the heck of it.

oh def. most of the time the agencies add some inches or half an inch. I dunno why add an inch when they meet the requirement.

Here's Sylvia Mann (sorry if reposted). She's only 5'7 but apparently she doesn't do runway yet. She's appeared on a bunch of magazines though

NYmag's The Cut twitter mentioned a couple of times how significantly short some of the models were on the runway.

A considerably short model spotted backstage @ Ronson. Literally stood on tiptoes to pose with other models. What's going on here?!

A model @ Tahari is legitimately kind of short. Maybe Tyra's onto something? Which would totally shatter our world view, mind you. #nyfw
