Yeah, I have a feeling agencies lie less than this thread implies ... most models are TALL. Like, at least 5'9". Of course there are a few exceptions, but I think this thread polarises the height-lying phenomenon.

you would be suprised that some are kind of "small" less than 5'9. Just look at Irina Lazareanu and Sasha Pivoravova. they are big and they are far from being 5'9.

And I'm the last person to be anti short models. Hell, I ADORE Sasha. She's one of my all-time faves.

I'm just saying the overwhelming majority of models are, as the job requires, tall.

i wasn't offensive don't worry i mean since kate moss break up the world of modelling so many shorties comes. but of course they have to make double effort or have a big support ( like a photographers/editors of Vogue/Designer ) to keep on having jobs. for example look at Mona she did 3 seasons great ( 2 big season and 1 less big ) because she failed to have support. I think Sasha, despite the fact i adore her too !!! xD, keep on having job because she have THE support : Muiccia Prada. Same for Irina, she's a personality and she's different and she supported by Lagerfeld and Gesquiere. Same for Kate Moss. she was a galliano favorite.

i think they are more and more shorties right now Vlada say herself she was 5'8 ( 174 cms ) sasha tell herself she's 5'7 (171 cms ), Irina is between 5'7 and 5'8, and iklene ( i don't know typing it xD ) is not really tall too...

Sasha told someone on these very forms that she wasn't an inch over 5'7

Actually... a lot of models on these boards admit to lying by more than an inch or two on their height. A lot of agencies just ask you how tall you are and take your word for it (a lot, NOT ALL), then even add an inch or two without you know about it!

if i remember well there's an interview where they both spoke about "the skinny wave" in the model industry and they both told their height if i remember well sasha told 5'7 and vlada 5'8

really? Vlada looks very tall to me...maybe because she's very skinny..but still she looks more like she is at leat 5'9...

I agree with you Hanna about the support...
some not-too-tall models made it really big, mostly because they had a huge support like:

Kate Moss
Laetitia Casta
Bianca Balti
Mona Johanesson
Sasha Pivovarova
etc...
