^I would be happy if that were true; the shorter girls/models need to get more representation. Plus, I think it can be an asset in this industry. It makes them stand out.

That said, Ali always looked really tall to me. I remember her and I think it was her friend who confirmed that she really is 5'8" or 5'8.5".

I hope people realise that making models shorter won't make you taller, it won't make them shorter, and it wont make you a model, it is very wierd and telling behaviour though. Anabella is way taller than 5'8, as is Gemma. I've said it before and I'll say again, some girls do really have eveything, height, looks, awesome figures. If you guys really want to know how tall these girls are then this Video gives a good idea as a lot of the girls are in flats (after 1:59) and appear shortly after each other, therefore you can be more subjective with your assumptions. As you can see their heights are all very close to each other, and they are all very tall, imagine yourself in the show and that will give an idea as to how tall they are, since their heights are all comperable it suggests to me that the industry does have a high requirement for heights.

Yeah Sasha, Snejana, Iek, Irina L and some others are short and it's not even scandelous to say. What shocked me was that Karl had some of the shorter girls walk in flats (flatter than flats, they were like socks). I guess it means that when you're at the top of the heap like these girls are then designers don't really care.

Though girls like Vlada, Gemma, Trentini, Elise and Freja are all obviously 5'11 and over. Whereas Lily D, Raquel, Carmen Kass are all 5'10 so it's not worth debating their heights.

I think we're pedantic because we're not apprieciating that an inch is 2.5 cm. So if you're 180, 181 or 182, you're still 5'11. So a girl like Natasha poly who is listed as 5'10 could be at the lower end of 5'10 or the higher end of 5'9, so centimetres are negligable, when the average height of a model seems to be 178 cm.

Plus she's listed at 5'10" There was a study that said that 70% of new york runway models were 5'9" and over and like 15% were 5'8". I think Freja is 5'10". I think most models are 5'9"-5'11". There aren't as many 5'7"'s as people make out to be.

She was listed at 176cm at the beginning of her career when she was 14/15. She has probably grown since then. She's always taller than other models in pics (aside from Hana). She's at least 5'10" if not 5'10.5" or 5'11". 5'9" is out of the question.

LMAO What? Who would do a study on the heights of runway models? Who has this much time and who would waste resources on it. Do you have this study? Anyway Lol, anyone who is 5'8 would know if they stood next to Vlada she would tower over them. Do you have the interview where she said she was 5'8? If she's 5'8 then Snejana is 5'5, and Sasha is 5'4. Which they obviously aren't. People think Snejana is short and just looks tall because she's th*n, though think about it, if she was that short she wouldn't get runway work, because even though designers and seamstreses make allowances, runway clothes come in sample sizes unless they are twals, and are a certain length. If Vlada and Snejana were as short as 5'5 and 5'8, they would be around Mona's height, and there is no way either of them are around her height and we all know it. They're way taller.

Well, Vlada, Sasha and Snejana are often photographed together and even though pictures can lie, Vlada is only slightly taller than Snejana and Snejana is slightly taller than Sasha.That's my impression at least.
So I'd say 5'7 for Sasha, 5'7.5-5'8 for Snejana and 5'8.5-5'9 for Vlada
No seriously, those three are defintely not the tallest out there.

I think it's been semi-confirmed that Sasha is about 5'7 and yeah she isn't even standing straight in that pic and Vlada is still not "towering" over her.
I still can be wrong of course, but this is just my opininion.
By the way, I think it's just fun to find out their "real" heights, people shouldn't take this thread too serious

Yeah you're right, these three aren't the tallest out there. You're also right that this thread should be taken as fun, besides for me it's much more interesting finding out guys are shorter than they actualy say. I mean women can even it out with heals. However there's an underlying negativity in this thread whereby to satisfy one's own
narcissism, we'll put a model down, similar to the weight thread where posts like "she's thin therefore she's not a real woman, and therefore she must be unhappy" are prevalant.

Are we genuinely saying these girls are short from our impressions from pictures (they are impressions because none of us have chased them with measuring tapes)?. Or are we saying "Doutzen is prettier and taller than me so I'll say she's actually 5'9 and not 5'10" to make myself feel better", does it really make her shorter? I used to be like that back in 2003, "Oh she can't be that tall and that pretty", but "she" (whoever she was) was in fact both. Self awareness is never fun.

The fact is models may be shorter than other models, but they're not categorically short. I think it is great that Shasha who being 20+ and only slightly over average height can repeat her Prada campaign 6 times, be on the cover of Vogue Italia 3 times in the same year as being on the cover of US vogue and have an Armani cosmentics campaign. Though this realistically doesn't happen often, and if you want to replicate a career like hers, you need to have a face as striking as hers. Also it's glaringly obvious that a lot of people here want to be models, though don't meet the height requirements and so the mentality is to bring other models down, when we all know an agency wont even take a poloroid of a girl of who is 5'7. Remember you're only as tall as your deeds.

What's even more frustrating is when people fabricate these tales of model encounters, e.g. My mother's, sister's, boyfriend's, twice removed uncle's hairdresser met my least favourite model and confirmed she was a 5'5 midget.

We can't really judge a person's height from pictures, we don't know their everday posture, do they lean, slouch or slant? It's even perplexing contemplating what angle the camera is capturing them at? If the elevation is low, they'll appear taller, if they elevation is higher they'll be shorter, and if it's dead on from the front then they'll appear wider. The camera doesn't add ten pounds it changes your dimensions depending on the environment and the lighting that may play with your proportions.
Just my opinions though.

This image supports the theory that Vlada isn't actually that much taller than Snejana and Vlada, so I was totally wrong there, they all have different slants, and shoes though again we don't know Sasha or Snejana's confirmed heights so we can't gouge Vlada's real height either.

Um, I don't remember anyone in this thread implying, let alone stating, that a model was less than anyone else because of their height, people just want to know how tall a model really is.

Wow, I always assumed Vlada was very tall for some reason, I guess I never paid attention when those 3 were photographed together.

Making models shorter doesn't make me feel better. I wouldn't want to be 5'11"-6'2". I think it's harder to look attractive at that height (models like Ana BB and Oluchi sure do manage it though). However, it's fun to see how far models are from their said height. Most models are imo close or right on their listed height but a select few are way off. For example Selita Ebanks is listed at 5'9.5" in some places but we know she is not close to that tall. I think Sasha is 5'6.5"-5'7". Vlada I think is around 5'9" however when she's around Tanya, she seems much shorter than her and Tanya has said that she's not over 5'11". If I hate a model, making them appear shorter doesn't make me feel better at all, in fact it makes me feel worse that this model has so much success with such a short stature. I agree that it's rare to see models like Sasha at 5'6.5"-5'7". Also, I think it's funny when one model like Sasha is listed at 5'9" but is like 5'7" or slightly under and then another model like Gemma is listed at 5'9" but is somewhere near 5'11" (if not 5'11") and they're listed this by the same agency.

I also think that this thread exaggerates the shortness of models. When I see Sasha on the runway (from what I've read of encounters, she is said to be as low as 5'6" sometimes, but usually people say she's around 5'7") she is always a lot shorter than the other girls. Same with Natalia who is taller than Sasha. Most models that aren't very big are never below 5'9" (maybe 5'8") because agencies just don't think they have the potential face-wise to make it big and make up for their height. If it makes people feel better that models are closer to their own height why not let them feel better? I see nothing bad about it.

In my opinion Coco Rocha is a short girl who is masquerading as a taller girl. When I say short I mean if Vlada is 5'9/5'10, then Coco who is listed as around 5'9, probably is 5'8. Though her agency probably wants to work her unique face to its full potential.

Similarly I think Catherine McNeil is like 6'0, she's huge, taller than Magdalena, Anja and Tanya. It was hard for me to believe she was only 17 when she started out.
