Models Who Aren't That Tall

^Totally agree, but they're hardly short, any of them, I think that's insulting to short people, it's like Miranda Kerr running around saying "God I'm so outa shape", it's ostentatious, I know I was rude and aggressive but you said what I was think when used the word "exaggerate", they can't be that small!

In my opinion Coco Rocha is a short girl who is masquerading as a taller girl. When I say short I mean if Vlada is 5'9/5'10, then Coco who is listed as around 5'9, probably is 5'8. Though her agency probably wants to work her unique face to its full potential.

Similarly I think Catherine McNeil is like 6'0, she's huge, taller than Magdalena, Anja and Tanya. It was hard for me to believe she was only 17 when she started out.
McNeil looks really tall as does Irina K. I don't think I've ever seen Irina be shorter than anyone in pictures. I don't think she's 6'1" or anything, but I think 5'11.5" is more accurate.

Yeah definateley, same with Alyona, she's really tall too. Does anyone think Denisa and Edita aren't that tall compared to other models? Not like 5'7 or anything, just a bit shorter?

i think there's a big difference between BEING tall, and looking tall. girls like vlada and inguna and chanel iman look soooo tall. and then tanya, who is at LEAST 5'11 can sometimes look 5'9" on the runway depending on the outfit.

cuteshoes you're right but I haven't seen any picture where Tanya looks smaller than 5'10 :ninja:

my thoughts are sasha 1.72 snejana 1.74 (maybe less) vlada 1.76

I don't think Sasha is that tall. I mean she looks significantly shorter than almost every girl when she's on the runway. I think she's 169 or 170 cm. If she were 172cm the difference inheight would be far less obvious.

Late reply, but Andi Muise isn't 5'7, she's 5'9 and a quarter; *shrugs* I'm not going off of what agencies said, but after what she said to me.

I don't know, because you're a big Andi fan so you probably see more pics of her with other models. I just read an article about last year's show that said she was 5 foot 7 but seeing as she's listed at 5'10", being 5'7" would be a stretch. Also in 2006 when the angels were getting a key to the city, Andi was standing next to Stam and looked several inches shorter so I don't think she's over 5'9" because that would make Stam at least 5'11".

Edit: I didn't see that Andi told you that. I guess she's 5'9" then.

Models lie just like agencies. Unless you are a close friend, I highly doubt a model would stray from what her compcard says.

To the user carmen_kass, this thread isnt meant to make us feel better about ourselves. I think it's a very good thing. It may not be as important as the weight thread, but it just goes to show that the fashion industry lies. It reinforces that idea. Like the weight, if you dont 'fit' into the criteria, something has to be done, except in this case it is adding a couple of inches or so. It's almost saying the perfect woman is no shorter than 5'9", and no taller than 5'11" but really it's all lies because there are 5'5" models who have walked the runway along with 6'2" girls.
And finding out some model is 5'7" instead of their listed height 5'9" actually helps people realize they may have a chance at modeling. This thread is very informative and useful. We do not trash the shorter models. It's just a dig to find the truth.
Finding out a model is shorter than her listed height doesn't make me feel better about my height, I'm satisfied with my height, because it's not going to change no matter how much I prod and poke at model's heights, and if some people are here for that reason alone, then I don't know what to say.

^I highly doubt Andi Muise is 5'9...She's 5'7...Look at her barefoot backstage next to Caroline W (who's 5'10) at the '07 VSFS...Andi was TIPTOE'ing, which clearly points out that she's noticeably shorter than Caroline...:flower:

what's weird is that i saw eva shaw about a year ago and i could have sworn she was 5'10 or 5'11 at least, and it turns out she is only 5'9". i saw her from sitting down and she was standing, but still. i thought she was wayyy taller than she was. my guess is that MOST models are listed as taller than they are, unless they are 5'10 in which case they are listed as their actual height, along with girls that are 5'11. if they are 6' +, they are probably listed as 5'11.

just based on character, i think the girls who have been honest about their heights are ali michael and andi muse because they are members of tfs and voluntarily participate in their threads. i don't know for sure. but that's my guess.

OK thanks. I still think Vlada is 5'9" but I would have to meet her.

This is exactly the kind of mentality I'm talking about, someone who has met them personally is telling you their height and you still "think" the model is shorter. As for the member who made the remark about measuring them, first hand experience of standing next to a person gives a better prespective than speculating using pictures, If someone 5'10 is standing next to you, and you're a certain height you will be able estimate properly how tall the person is, it's better than looking at a bunch of pictures and GUESSING.

Actually standing next to someone isn't reliable either. People always think I'm taller than I actually am. It's just as easy to under or overestimate someone's height when standing right next to them as it is to tell from pictures.
