Most Overpriced Designer?

This isn't really a brand, but I think just about all designer it bags. The chipping lock and the leather coating coming off on the chloe paddingtons, the loose clasps on the fendi spys, the worsening leather on the balenciagas, gaps in the frame on the marc jacobs stam, and the list goes on. I think it's ridiculous how they have all these problems with the prices they charge

any t shirts with designer names are overpriced. to me, no particular designer label is overpriced. an item can be overpriced but not the label itself. sometimes it's the fabric, the design and the production that costs most money. some are produced cheaply and still very expensive because of the customers they want to target. if it's too cheap, the target market might not like it.

i find the Rochas collections terribly overpriced (for what they are)

Rochas collections are just... over $30K(or even $40K+++) for a dress.

^ one can actually find less expensive items in a Rochas collection, but the quality is.. eww

hm... only because its from juicy its that expensive.. if H&M has a T like that, it'll only cost 40$ or maybe even less...

Alloy sells tee's exactly like this for $20 to $24 dollars.

I saw a $910 Jil Sander t shirt the other day. It was a kind of a mesh material, not cotton and had a little applique detail. But I can't see that justifying the exorbitant price.

i agree that designer t shirts are expensive but i can also see why design houses do it. people who are attracted to the allure of a designer name but cannot afford the big pieces will shell out a smaller sum although wildly overpriced to feel included. a good example is dior homme. plenty of kids who cannot afford the jackets or even the jeans still buy the t shirts to feel like part of the dior homme asthetic. and at the same time dior turns a huge profit selling tons of simple jersey cotton t shirts at $160 a piece. it's common knowledge that all profits are derived from accessories. you create the unreachable goal of luxury and then sell that to the masses in little overpriced pieces.

I've yet to see a designer tee to be worth it's tag though I heard the UnderCover tees were sold at $60 in Japan. That's a pretty reasonable price considering the fact that there are horrendous streetwear tees that cost more then that.

i've shopped nowhere but burberry (as far as the high end fashion houses)... their stuff is quite expensive, but from the quality i can see it is worth it. however i've been to other stores, and saw that their stuff is WAY UP THERE pricewise, but the quality doesn't seem to differ..... and the looks also leave much to be desired. my vote goes to Marc Jacobs .... a cashmere v-neck sweater, dirty washed out blue color - $1,700. I'd rather spend this much for a nice trip to Paris, or something! Whatever, but that's BS!

Whoa Leviathan those prices in NY are crazy! Even in those overpriced HK and JP reseller, UC tees hover around $120 - $140 and they usually double their price of the original.

Ye undercover t's are about that in the store in Japan, comme shirt and play line is about the same.

mt vote goes to marc jacobs..i cannot fathom those prices season to season

Dior and Marc Jacobs mainline.

And some Chloe items.

Perhaps the USD really needs to get stronger?

Rock & Republic. The button fell off of my pair of R&R's after wearing it for only a couple months. And they were a little BIG on me, so it's not like they were getting too much strain. And I have this sweater from this brand called AAA New York or something, and it cost me $200. The zipper kept getting snagged on the fabric and now it's all torn up in that little spot. And, at the bottom, the zipper wasn't even sewn in securely, so the zipper is kind of falling off at the bottom of the sweater. A zero should have been knocked off at the end of the price tag for quality like that!

Thier tacky, "tweeny"-looking, neon colored, hand bags are like 400 bucks!? Are they kidding?

I dont blame them for tapping into the American teenage market- its a smart business move to charge the crap out of girls who want to be "trendy".

I totally agree. Juicy Couture is WAY overpriced. And like someone else said, it is in no way couture. Some of my friends don't even know what couture is, but when they hear the word they go "Juicy??". Ahhhhh I just want to take everything Juicy Couture and put it in Limited Too--where it belongs!

I agree with you stylesnob and fashnistabrooke - Juicy Couture is not worth the retail. totally outrageous! i also think that Prada and Marc Jacobs bags are overpriced.

at this point i'd expect all designer bags to be around $1000. if you think that's over priced i'd start looking into non designer options.

^ I'm not upset at the prices, but at the quality you get for those prices
