Most Overpriced Designer?

I can see that, plus Miu Miu has a history of relevance over the last three decades in a way that Courreges does not.

The girls I see seem to have moved on from Celine to Miu Miu, 2 years, 18 months ago. They still buy Celine but much less, the novelty have faded as it has become not more "mainstream" but more accessible, in term of number of retail points, while Miu Miu stores are still quite rare.
I think its the same effect as The Row; the very limited distribution is another driver of desirability, and pricing disconnected from any reality.

that makes sense... everything the past celine clients want, they already have and the current offerings havent really changed much. However they can find in miu miu some quirky additions to what they got from celine. Even vintage miu miu are on their radar.

Their Capri collection, those price lol. Cotton 100% =)))
I go to their website to see the listed items and can assure that it is very cheap to produce those laser cut embroidery cotton lace with embroidery machines which is recently a combination of laser cutting and embroidery technologies. It is the same kind of fabric I worked with some mid-range brands four or five years ago when it was in trend. I guess the cost of the dolce ones are mostly due to cutting the fabric in shapes and assembling them in symmetry but still cannot justfiy their price.

The cut out of the shape of Italy in the last dress looks like tear. 💀

Those used to be extremely costly 30 years ago, I recall some seamstresses having to cut all the voids in the fabric by hand, then all the laces and tulle by hand too, and then obviously all the garment has assembled by hand. Ours were hand-painted mousseline with designs to match the voids.

Now its the matter of programming the laser-cutting machine but that doesn't justify the same prices.

Sorry to post so much Gucci but what the actual f*ck is this pricing on the new collection?? Here are the materials, btw:
  • Fabric: 97% Cotton, 2% Polyamide, 1% Elastane.
  • Embroidery: 100% Polyester.
  • Non textile embroidery: 25% Plastic, 25% Metal, 25% Resin, 25% Glass.
Also, it’s so ugly!!!!
