Most Overpriced Designer?

It's ridiculous that nobody talk about Brioni in this quiet luxury trend, I mean the price are even more insane but they are literally Chanel prestigious level of men's leisure wear, I don't think B.C is there yet.

I actually think it’s an interesting way to use scraps of leather. But I have always the same concern when I see Hermes do the little objects out of their scraps: « who is buying that? ».
For me, those kinds of objects are very great but should be reserved for decoration of their stores or offices. They are selling mushroom paperweight at +3K. You would expect the stuff to be cheaper than a Oran sandal at least lol
I do buy that, I used to buy A LOT of Hermes ridiculous objects and they were far superior in quality than current petit H or Hermes furniture: I have car liquor cabinets - the kind you find in vintage Bentleys, fly-chasers, sun umbrellas, bags to carry my cat (in elephant skin), ivory toothbrush, and a weird loo rolls holder in the shape of an elephant, also the things to put your hats on ( some stylised head in brass in leather) and so on….
Plus the desk thing (pen holders, desk clocks, compasses, etc) used to be my to-go gifts when I was uninspired…
I d probably go to leather bouquets…

things like this should be used in stores like you said, or gifts to VVIP clients. luxury fashion will never be sustainable but sending them an impossible-to-buy craft that demonstrates the house's artistry and dedication to making the most out of their high quality materials is a lot more special than flying them somewhere for a dinner.

Well it's the "most overpriced DESIGNER" thread, I have yet to find the design at Brioni.
Kiton, Zilli, Frank Namani, and geneva brand will croc trimming would all fall into the same category: extremely well-made and expensive clothes, lacking of design intentions.

Softgrey talking abt Cuccinelli, I just reply her comment. And surely, Brioni and the ones you mentioned are not designer brands and they don't need to be, just expensive clothes for who dgaf about fashion.
Tbh Brioni used to have fantastic womenswear collections in late 2000s, you can find some threads about them here, people really loved it.

I don't have the prices yet (my guess is at least $4k, but $9k wouldn't surprise me ), but The Row launches handwoven blankets

The Row has made a surprise appearance at the 2025 edition of Milan Design Week, debuting a soft goods collection at the Palazzo Belgioioso in the Quadrilatero della Moda district. However, in true Olsen style, their presentation was intimate and pared-back, showcasing a collection of solid throws and bedding handcrafted from fine wool.

Boasting beige, tan, and deep black hues, a range of blankets is handwoven in India from the world’s finest cashmere. Elsewhere, a Quilted bedding set, also in cashmere, is meticulously hand-stitched with small squares. According to Vogue, the variety used in the collection is harvested from young goats, and weighs less than 14.5 microns. The only indication of the brand appears on a corner of the blankets, which boast miniature logos.

I like the bed and how grand it is. Reminds me of the castle in Nosferatu

It’s impractical though.

I am not going to risk a slip and fall, busting my *** on marble because of a lube spill though.
