Yeah, sometimes, it happens to the best of us... for some reason, yesterday two friends of mine and I, tried Nair on our upper lip...I went to the extreme and tried it all over my beard, causing me this big reaction against my skin, it's all red and irritated, and it can't touch water, cause otherwise, I will see hell...that was last nite, this morning, it doesn't hurt that bad when I put water on it, but my face is literally red at the areas where I applied this product...

SO, has any of you gone through a similar situation, will the redness fade away??

This is really funny, On FRIDAY i tried this horrible experiment. Shaving really irritates my skin so i decided to do this. First thing that went wrong was that i used not the one for face but the one that says "do not use on face" Second thing i left it on too long. Seriously, i got a chemical burn. this was Friday, i still cant go to school. ITs really not doctor worthy, but i am applying neosporin constantly and it is going down.

Now it turned into a rash and it is peeling away. BUt this really made me feel like a looser. This is what i get for letting my vanities get to me!! Alejandro my situation is much worse and it is slowly getting better. So you will be out in now time!! (i had to cancel everything, im really that dramatic)

Its mostly uncomfortable and embarrasing....I just tell people i had a bad chemical peel:ninja:

Try to apply some pure aloe vera gel, it´s really soothing. ;)

Eddie JD is a drama queen!
He is going for most dramatic actress at the Val Party.
Truthfully, I havent seen the damage, but guys, its gonna be ok...it is just irritation. Keep your chin up (no pun intended).

PW Is just upset because we could not do the rounds in L.A. whatever.....

My chin is getting less red, and I don't feel the burning sensation that much, but it still looks fcukin' red

Go get some bikini zone from the drug store and put it on your face. It might help with the redness.

And Nair is evil... it burns your skin with all those chemicals!

agreed...

...do any of you know any good alternatives to nair??

omg that happened to me too with the upper lip stuff. What I did wrong was rub it too much. And it ended up like scabbing over and my whole upper lip was red and raw. I still use it though because it works great I just barely rub it off and then when I get in the shower the rest comes off without rubbing.

they do sell a smaller bottle of Nair that is made for facial hair.. I hope you didn't use the stuff that's meant for your legs... anyways... even when I tried out the sensitive facial kind of Nair... it still left my skin feeling sensitive.. but no scary redness or bumps...

My dad used to work for the company that manufactured Nair.. so we always got that stuff for free.

i say go for facial lotions that include aloe vera, as sofialuv had said. And avoid using ANYTHING on ur face that has alcohol... :) im sorry but i couldnt help but laugh...if u used the one for the legs, thats some pretty powerful stuff! :( maybe you can try shaving again but use a womens shaver...they usually aren't as 'rough' the way mens are! Best of luck! :)

 Oh gawd .... I'm sorry Ale .... but I nearly died laughing!!! I do hope your face is a whole lot better now though.

So yeah, here's how it looks, this was taken this morning, no makeup :ninja:

Yikes!!!! :O
Oh, i am so sorry for you. You look like you have been burned by an hot iron!!!
Really, go buy something at a pharmacist or apply pure aloe vera or even some vitamin-a ointment or something that is really suitable for burns. That looks serious!

Ale.. did you put regular Nair on? Or Facial nair??? .. I wonder how that Veet Spray stuff works... hm

eww I tried veet on my legs before and I did not like it. Because you have to let it sit and then scrape it off with that "razor" thing and my legs didn't stay smooth long for all the hype veet had

Oh man!!!!! Please at least see what the pharmacist can recommend to help.

The results look like you did an at-home chemical peel. :( Feel better Ale!
