Naomi Campbell is modelling for Tescos. The British supermodel, who counts H&M and Accessorize among her high street posing portfolio, made her debut for the supermarket in a prime time television ad last night. As part of the new campaign for the Cherokee label, the casual American label that is sold from Tescos in the UK, Naomi stars as herself in the ad, acting up a self-parody that is sure to improve her image over here. Campbell is seen arriving at a hotel and madly beating down pop-up signs that repeatedly appear to reveal just how inexpensive her outfit is. The next scene shows her attending an anger management meeting before losing her temper as more pop-ups appear. This ad is the second in the current campaign series and whether Naomi will appear in further ads is yet to be decided. For now though, she's bound to get the Cherokee label noticed. "It is completely on a level with the high street fashions," says a spokeswoman for the label. "The clothes are inspired in the same way as all the most popular labels. The quality speaks for itself though – it's on a par with Gap, or even better, because the supermarket is able to source the best materials." From Vogue.co.uk
I suppose the advert’s trying to prove to everyone that Naomi has a sense of humour…
