Nicolas Ghesquière - Designer, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton

The whole point of his experimentation since... 04 or 05? is that while he does not have the absolute consistency of the old school Balenciaga or even Galliano, Gaultier, etc, at least it's exciting to see what he has in store next ever season. A lot of his pieces don't work, but that's the price you pay for trial and error, no? I admire the fact that he actually throws away "consistency" and goes for "imaginative", despite the fact that he's not like say, Valentino Mens line ever year.

Well, Valentino does have the blue blazer down to an art. Perhaps Ghesquiere will find his niche, but I hope that he doesn't, it makes fashion exciting.

>> Nicolas Ghesquiere was in New York last night — he was given the Superstar award at Fashion Group International's Night of Stars gala — and while he was pleased to be one of the youngest ever to receive the honor, he joked, “I might be the youngest, but I'm coming from the oldest house. And I don’t feel like a superstar at all. It’s like a fantasy book title!” Ghesquiere also shared: “I just took a Western road trip. I went to San Francisco, Utah, and Arizona just taking pictures and discovering the beauty of all the landscapes. I was in awe of Utah.” Next season's inspiration, perhaps? [DFR]

Utah represent! B)

But in all seriousness, I'm so excited over the possibilities of what he could do with inspiration from the landscapes and cultures of the West. He's such a visionary.

Ugh, what a terrible outfit for Kristin to wear. Look how far Balenciaga has downgraded -

you're right, diorcouture. Kristen Stewart's dress is an eyesore- and wearing that at the Met gala?! what were they thinking?
Balenciaga has changed so much. it's disappointing, really.

It's not even the dress that's downgraded. He went with Kristen Stewart! Like really, Nicolas? :(
