Nicolas Ghesquière - Designer, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton

Amazing news! I'm really excited to see his interpretation of the house!

Amazing news! I can't wait to see his debut collection for the house. I'm sure he'll do fantastic.

I love Marc but it's so neat to see what Nicolas will do, At Balenciaga there's such a deep history and DNA of the brand at LV like Marc10 said he will differently have a lot more freedom. I think he's prefect and it' pretty much the show of Fall/Winter 2014.

Even though I wanted to see Phoebe Philo.. Wouldn't that be amazing imo

HELL YES! So excited for this. Even though I didn't like the direction he took with the last few collections for Balenciaga, this will hopefully be an amazing match.

I bet Zac Posen was waiting by the phone like it was rumored he was doing when the Dior job was open

OMG i've been laughing so hard at this!

you know it was just the matter of time for this to be announced. I'm so curious to know what he will delivery to Paris next season.

This also reminds me of the time when Alexander McQueen left LVMH to Gucci group and now the case happened in the opposite way.

Glad things are finally happening for him again. Exciting. I'm ready for Nicolas to take over.

Hardly unexpected, but great news that we have confirmation of this nonetheless. Two seasons without NG's genius alone felt like an eternity, so I can't wait to see his debut collection next season!

I just hope he's over his hipster phase. His last collection at Balenciaga was great, though.

I just hope LVMH also throws him some money for his own signature label. Now that would excite me

but congrats to him if it's t true! I wonder if he will run into any problems with how they rein in creativity there. I mean if Marc can get away with jumping from idea to idea each season...surely he could, non?

Lol zac posen's thirst for that dior position was tragic. He can keep on wishing forever

He'd do a better Dior than Raf Simons, I dare say.

So exciting to hear this confirmation - with this kind of a luxury house Ghesquiere could do incredible things, creative designs which fashion needs at the moment.. just as long as they have great shoes and bags.

It's been so so long since I was excited rather than bummed about a piece of fashion news! Yay yay yay yay
